Description
Process for the production of a heating or propellant oil from a mixture one predominantly aromatic asphalt and one predominantly aliphatic Oils When primarily aromatic oils containing hard asphalt are mixed with oils of predominantly aliphatic composition occur depending on the mixing ratio more or less strong flocculation of hard asphalt resulting from the use make these oil mixtures very difficult or even impossible. It is already known Asphalt precipitation from such oil mixtures through the addition of such amounts of asphalt dissolving agents Prevent phenols. that the phenols and the asphalts dissolved in them with the Mix the oil to form a homogeneous solution. For this purpose, amounts of phenol up to required at 30 ° / a. However, adding such large amounts of phenol is very disadvantageous and brings with it the further shortcoming that the calorific value of the mixture is thereby is not reduced insignificantly.
The invention relates to a method of making a Heating or fuel oil from a mixture of a predominantly aromatic oil Addition of asphalt-dissolving hydrocarbon derivatives. According to the Mixture or the predominantly aromatic oil before it is mixed with the aliphatic Oil such asphalt-dissolving hydrocarbon derivatives, like phenols, Cresols, kylenols, phenylhydrazine, tenzyl alcohol, toluidine, but preferably Aniline, added in amounts up to about @ 5% that the added carbon assstoffde @ iv ate with the asphalts dissolved in them form a special layer secrete from the oil mixture. It is particularly advantageous for economic reasons the use of the inexpensive aniline as an asphalt dissolving agent. One on this Well-made oil that does not show any flocculation even after long periods of storage, is because it requires only a small amount of additives and, as a result, a higher calorific value possesses as the well-known oil to which up to 30.degree. 1o phenols are mixed, essential Can be produced more advantageously and economically and therefore for heating and driving purposes more suitable. As the for example mentioned as well as all the rest Possible asphalt-dissolving hydrocarbon derivatives not in all oil mixtures from a predominantly aromatic asphalt and a predominantly aliphatic Oil (or from never different oils) because of their very different composition These oil mixtures act to form two layers, before the operational addition the asphalt dissolving substance to the oil mixture on the basis of one to be carried out with small quantities Preliminary test determined whether the additive formed two layers in the oil mixture works. If this is not the case, the above or the Asphalt-dissolving hydrocarbon derivatives that are otherwise known to those skilled in the art are another Additive chosen.
It is already known to add amines to aliphatic paraffinic petroleum oils in an amount >> of less than 0.5 % in order to combat the sudden increase in the solidification point that occurs with these oils. This is not, as with the subject of the invention, the prevention of the precipitation of hard asphalt from a mixture of a predominantly aromatic asphalt-containing and a predominantly aliphatic oil by adding asphalt-dissolving hydrocarbon derivatives in amounts up to about 5 ° 1o that the added Hydrocarbon derivatives with the asphalt dissolved in them separate from the oil mixture as a special layer. In addition to the hard asphalt, the asphalt-dissolving substances can also absorb other hydrocarbons from the oil mixture and keep them in solution. This two-layer oil can easily be used for heating or propelling purposes because it does not contain solid components. It can optionally be stirred mechanically before use so that the two layers of oil mix.
In the manner described you can, for. For example, a mixture of 60 parts of smoldering tar and 10 parts of a gas oil, which would show strong flocculation of hard asphalt, protect against the occurrence of such flocculation by adding about 3.4 parts of aniline. Of the resulting two layers, the lower one contains the solution of the hard asphalt in the aniline. It is noteworthy that this lower layer has the relatively low viscosity of only 7.07 centipoise / 20 °.
The asphalt-dissolving substances can already match the asphalt-containing ones Smoldering tar can be added if it is to be expected that this oil will come before it Use is mixed with other oils that have aliphatic components. This is then advisable to keep the oil in storage containers before use and there is a possibility that the stock will be supplemented with oils of other origins especially on ships.
