Description
Method of Making Dry Electrolytic Capacitors The Invention relates to a method of making dry electrolytic capacitors with spacing layers made of non-conductive materials between the electrodes, in which a large number of ready-assembled dry capacitor elements degassed in a vacuum vessel and dried. So far have been in the making dry electrolytic capacitors the spacing layers between the Electrodes or the electrodes themselves with the electrolyte, smeared and then completed the capacitor element by layering or winding. Bringing together the soaked intermediate layers and the electrodes were partly done by hand, partly by machine.
It is already known to use wet electrolytic capacitors in the way to be impregnated with the electrolyte so that you can put together the capacitor elements immersed in a container with electrolyte liquid and then the container evacuated for faster removal of all air residues from the capacitor elements. As a further development of this known method, the electrolyte liquid is used a layer of oil is applied, which despite the water content of the electrolyte liquid the vacuum should keep constant. Furthermore, it is no longer new when it comes to impregnation of static capacitor elements with wax or oil, the fully assembled To expose capacitor elements to a vacuum to expel air and moisture and then the impregnation oil, which has also been vacuum-dewatered and air-free to pour over the condenser elements. In this way, Milan receives a wax or oil impregnation of the capacitor elements, which are free of air and water inclusions is.
All known methods are liable for the lack of that they are used for impregnation take up a lot of time. In the case of the method according to the invention, this is the opposite on the electrolyte in as short a period of time as possible, during which it its composition practically does not change in a large number of capacitor elements bring in. This is how it is done according to the invention. before that first the finished composite capacitor elements vented in the absence of the electrolyte and then, with the pump switched off, the one produced under normal pressure Electrolyte at the moment in which it is ready for soaking, is sucked into the vacuum vessel in such a way that the impregnation of the elements occurs suddenly and without changing the electrolyte composition. Through this it is achieved that on the one hand the vacuum during the impregnation according to the access of Electrolyte disappears and on the other hand the water content of the electrolyte is maintained. Because even if during suction a certain evaporation of water occurs, it takes place when normal pressure is reached a recondensation takes place immediately. As experiments have shown, the soaked sucked in electrolyte in a few seconds the vented cell body, so that any changes in the composition of the electrolyte, particularly changes the water content, can be avoided during the impregnation.
With some electrolytes, the viscosity is strongly dependent on the Temperature. It may therefore be necessary to use the fully assembled To heat the cell body during the venting so that the one that has entered the vacuum vessel The electrolyte has the viscosity necessary to completely soak the intermediate layer.
For those electrolytes that are ready for impregnation from are only viscous from the outset, you can also use overpressure during the impregnation use. This is done expediently in such a way that the finished, In turn, the electrolyte entering the vacuum vessel is pressurized.
The method described, the difficulties that so far occurred during the processing of the electrolyte, completely avoided. You get in this way electrolytic cells of such a uniform nature, as they could not be achieved with the previously known methods. In addition but also that you can assemble the cell body separately and independently of the electrolyte production can perform.
