Description

B;. Cellulosefasern oder Asbestfasern, zu verwenden.Filler for plastics and synthetic resin compounds It is known at the production of plastics and synthetic resin compounds, e.g. B. made of polyvinyl compounds, hardenable synthetic resins or casein masses (artificial horn), which after casting or any Pressing process, e.g. B. by pressing, rolling or spraying, in moldings be transferred as fillers in addition to powdery or granular fillers, such as Wood flour, slate flour, talc, and the like, also fibrous fillers, such as. B ;. Cellulose fibers or asbestos fibers.

It has now been found that as a filler for plastics and synthetic resin compositions of the type described above are used with particular advantage in fiberized xylites will. Xylites are woody substances that come from tertiary forests and under Days in lignite seams and bogs occur in huge quantities. This one so far filler that has not yet been applied is characterized by particularly great cheapness, and its application leads to the production of particularly resistant materials. Another significant advantage is that this filler is in contrast not to recent wood or wood flour or wood pulp obtained from it, due to moisture is able to swell "or to shrink on drying, which makes this filler more versatile and is more useful as fillers based on recent wood. So the moldings produced using xylitol fibers as filler are distinguished characterized by particularly high dimensional stability. This beneficial effect is on it attributed to the fact that the resin contained in the xylites due to the long storage underground has become inactive, which makes it shrink and swell has lost. The fillers can be used in a conventional manner, for. B. by Addition to a solution, emulsion or dispersion. synthetic resins or by rolling in into the solid synthetic resins by means of hot rollers, optionally with the addition of Dyes or other fillers and additives, with the synthetic resins to form homogeneous products are processed. The addition of the fillers can, however, also be known per se Can be done in a kneading machine using highly volatile solvents, which are removed again by evaporation after homogenization has been achieved.
