Butt joint for glass or other panes, especially for
the hoods of aircraft weapon stands The invention relates to a butt joint
for glass or other panes, in particular for the hoods of aircraft weapon stands,
with an internal support rung designed as a T-beam and an external one
Cover rail, the connecting means of which are provided in the flange of the inner beam
Slots are guided and releasably attached to the web.
According to the invention, a T-beam is also used as the outer cover rail
provided, the support web except for individual tongues serving as connecting pieces
is cut out. According to the invention, the support web can be used as a spacer rail
serve between the two T-beams and at the same time the stop for the disc edges
form. This new arrangement has advantages over the known butt joints
especially greater strength because the outer T-beam is not just the glass panes
holds, but also stiffened the supporting structure. This strength is for a slewing ring hood,
to which the invention is particularly directed, particularly meaningful because of the
occurring large wind pressure. Furthermore, the new butt joint is from the aerodynamic
Point of view favorable because it avoids external fasteners and thereby
has a smooth outer surface. The simple construction of the new butt joint makes it easier
also the construction and replacement of the discs. With the new butt joint
can for the two T-beams only
standard profiles and besides
only normal screws and nuts can be used as fasteners.

Steg in gleichmäßigen Abständen Längsschlitze d.
The butt joint consists of two T-beams, the inner supporting rung
a and the outer cover rail b, together. The inner support rung a (Fig. 3 and
4.) has in her the disc edges f bearing upper flange close to her
Web at regular intervals longitudinal slots d. From the outer cover rail b (Fig.
i and 2) is the web except for a low support web g and individual tongues c
cut away. The tongues c have the same distance from one another as the slots
d and fit into this.
Der Stützsteg a bildet
gleichzeitig den Anschlag für die beiden Scheibenränder f.When the butt joint is closed, the pane edges f become so wide
placed on the flange of the support rung a that the tongues c of the cover rail b between
the disc edges are pushed through the slots d of the support rung
can. If the tongues c of the cover rail b have passed through the slots d so far,
until the support web acting as a spacer rail between the support rung and the cover rail
g rests on the flange of the support rung, then each tongue is secured by screws e
c of the cover rail b connected to the web of the support rung a. The support web forms a
at the same time the stop for the two disc edges f.
