Windshield wipers with wiper arm swinging back and forth There are already known windshield wipers which can be moved by hand, in which the wiper arm is automatically lifted off the windshield when it is pivoted out of the area of the wiping field. Windshield wipers driven by a motor are also known, in which the wiper arm can be decoupled from the drive means and removed from the driver's field of vision. The decoupling, lifting and pivoting of the wiper arm from the area of the windshield is also done by hand, from the inside of the car. Furthermore, it is known, in the case of curved windshields, to adapt the contact pressure of the wiper arm during the reciprocating movement by means of a control curve to the respective curvature of the windshield, in such a way that the shaft carrying the wiper arm of
Figs. I and 2 show an embodiment in which a wiper arm i and a gear 3 are mounted on the same shaft 2, which is rotatably mounted in the bearing bush 4 7e. The wiper arm is driven by a rack 5 via the gear 3 from the inside of the car. The wiper arm i is pivotable about the axis 6 and is pressed in the operating state by the spring 7 against the windshield io, as shown in FIG. If, by lengthening the crank arm that generates the pendulum movement of the wiper arm, the wiper arm is swiveled beyond the normal wiper field a (Fig. that, as shown in Fig. 2, it slides up onto the curved abutment 8. As a result, the part 2 is axially displaced in the direction of the arrow, while the lifting pin 9, which is mounted in the gear shaft, remains stationary. This results in the wiper arm i being lifted off the windshield. as can be seen from Fig. q.
Another embodiment of the invention is shown in Figs. 6 and y,
in which, in contrast to the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the gear shaft 2
axially not displaceable, the lifting pin 9, however, displaceable in the hollow shaft
is stored. The designations i to 7 and 9 correspond to those in Figs. I and
2. In this case, the wiper arm is lifted off when the
the pendulum motion of the wiper arm generating the crank arm and the associated
further sweeping movement of the rack 5 through an angle attached to it
i i with adjustable stop 12, which via the rotatably mounted lever arm 13 a
causes axial displacement of the lifting pin 9 in the direction of the arrow.
