Description

Method for operating image storage tubes Addendum to patent 691713 The main patent 691 713 deals with an operating method for image storage tubes with a photocathode separated from the storage electrode, in which, if the photocathode is uninterruptedly exposed, the acceleration voltage for the photoelectrons on the storage electrode corresponds to the brightness values of the Generate image corresponding charge image, is only switched on during part of the sampling period. The advantage of such a method is that fast-moving processes can be divided into individual, self-contained images without the need for a mechanical shutter. The present invention now relates to a further possible application of this idea. The method described is not only tied to image storage tubes with an image converter part, but can also be used with normal image storage tubes with double-sided mosaic panels, in which the tensile field for the photoelectrons is not mixed, as is the case with image storage tubes, due to the space charge in front of the mosaic, as is the case with image storage tubes but is generated completely independently of this by means of a suction electrode at a high positive potential. Following the example of the main patent, the suction voltage is then applied to this electrode only during i / or only 1 (1o of the scanning periodc: so that photo-charging of the double-sided image cube electrode can only occur during this interval If the object is neglected during this short period of time, a still image is obtained, which would otherwise only be possible with a correspondingly short exposure of the photocathode, for example with the help of an additional special mechanical shutter.

PATENT CLAIM: Application of the activation of the acceleration voltage for the photoelectrons only during part of the scanning period with uninterrupted exposure in accordance with main patent 691 713 on storing image decomposition tubes with double-sided mosaic electrodes, one side of which is impressed by the image to be transmitted and the other side by the scanning beam.
