Description
Production of highly sensitive photographic emulsions Addition to patent 708 423 In patent 708 423 a method for the production of highly sensitive photographic emulsions was described, which is based in principle on the emulsions being bathed in solutions of alkali hydroxides and stabilizing halogen compounds.
B. i. Nitroharnstoff, 2. Succinimid, 3. L-Histidinmonochlorhydrat, .4. Imidazol, 5. It has been shown that the alkali halides in the baths are advantageous by organic stabilizers, such as. B. i. Nitrourea, 2nd succinimide, 3rd L-histidine monochlorohydrate, .4. Imidazole, 5. thiolactic acid, 6. propionamide ° and other well-known stabilizers can be replaced.
35°C hinauszugehen. The advantage of using the organic stabilizers is that in particular the color sensitivity of emulsions treated in this way decreases to a lesser extent on storage than when using alkali halides. Example Agfa infrared plates 850 (.; Agfa "registered trademark) are bathed for 5 minutes at about 13 ° C. in a 0.03 to 0.1% strength KOH solution, then at the same temperature io Soaked for minutes in distilled water and then at the same temperature for 5 minutes in o, oi to o, ooi% igen; bathed in aqueous solutions of the organic stabilizers mentioned. The plates are then either dried immediately or bathed again in distilled water for 10 minutes at about 13 ° C. and only then dried. Drying can be carried out both at normal temperature and in a heated air stream. However, it is not advisable to have a drying temperature of. 35 ° C.
