Device to compensate for shrinkage during optical copying
The invention is based on a device for compensating for shrinkage in the optical
Copying of cinema films, especially in the production of subtractive cinema films
by means of an additive auxiliary film, and consists in that through the perforation holes
of the original film, two slit-shaped bundles of light come to photocells, one of which
through the top and the other through the lower edge of a perforation hole
covered or released depending on the shrinkage of the original film
average level above or below, and that by the photocells one motor each
is set in motion, the displacement corresponding to the amount of shrinkage
of the lens and dull lighting control system for the photocells. Appropriate
the film used for the new facility is opaque at its edges
made: It is known to use a photocell to influence the film flow according to
to use the hull. In the device according to the invention, however, a
more precise coordination of the film position is made possible by limiting the position
The film is perforated by two lines of light, one at the top and one at the bottom
Engage the edge of a hole.
in zwei Abbildungen veranschaulicht. In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is represented by an exemplary embodiment
illustrated in two figures.
In
t am unteren Rande. Wird nun der Film kürzer, so wird der Lichtspalt im Loch s zugedeckt;
In Fig.r, m is a vertical section through one edge of the film,
it a perforation hole, .o a filamentary light bulb, p- a fine gap, in
which this is mapped, and q the condenser system, which again this gap
maps in the hole. r is the photocell. If the film is shorter than shown,
so the but cuts
Edge of the hole n the light path to the photocell
r from. A similar device is attached to the other edge of the film. In
Fig. 2 shows, on a larger scale, part of the film strip which is in the
Holes s and t indicate the position of the two fine holes, each indicated by a black line
Light column shows. In hole s there is the gap of light at the upper edge, in the hole
t at the bottom. If the film is now shorter, the light gap in the hole s is covered;
on the other hand, the light gap in the hole t is covered as soon as the film becomes longer.
Instead of having both light gaps through the perforation openings with correct
Shine through position, the device can also be made so that the
Gaps of light are a little further apart and, with the right setting, straight
still fall on the opaque edge part, so that in this case the motors
stand still and now, if the length of the film is too long or too short, immediately the one
or the other engine comes into operation.
Die notwendige Verschiebung des Lichtsteuerungssystems hat folgende
Bedeutung: Wenn z.
The necessary shift of the lighting control system has the following meaning: If z. If, for example, the film shrinks by 10o compared to an average normal length and there is a film length of 10 cm between the transport roller, which is to be thought of below the drawing in Fig. 2, and the light gaps, the perforation holes in the drawing move down by 1 min . This hides the gap in the hole, one of the motors starts to run and shifts the imaging system until the magnification is correct. At the same moment, however, the control system must also. with the light gaps by i mm downwards 4eivert, so that now both gaps are mapped again in the perforation holes and thereby the movement of the Ab-Z comes to a standstill. The displacement of the control system in the vertical direction and the movement of the imaging objective along the optical axis must of course be coordinated with one another in the correct ratio. If the film changes its length again, a new movement of the hurried motor and, at the same time, a vertical shift of the light column occurs. In addition to the film length, the shrinkage also changes the hole width, ie the vertical distance between the upper and lower edge of the perforation holes. However, since the perforation hole is only 2 mm wide, its width only decreases by 0.02 mm with a shrinkage of 10 ", which can be neglected here.
