Method of manufacturing an electrolyte for an electrolytic
Capacitor Electrolytic capacitors should have a relatively high breakdown voltage
have, their assignments (electrodes') should be chemically as little as possible during operation
attacked and corroded, the dielectric generated on at least one electrode
Film should be as stable as possible, and the capacitor should ultimately be cheap and
can be easily manufactured.
bestehen bleibt.According to the invention, one of the operating voltage of the electrolytic capacitor

containing approach goes out and this boils. When using the electrolyte for
For higher voltages, the citric acid content is relatively greater and for lower voltages

until a practically complete conversion between the polyhydric alcohol and
the acid or the salt is brought about, whereupon the capacitor body is expedient
in the electrolytes that are still hot or at boiling temperature from production
is used for the purpose of impregnation, because the hot electrolyte is then liquid
and slightly penetrates the capacitor body, after which the impregnated capacitor body
can be cooled down together with the electrolyte. This gets the from the capacitor
absorbed electrolyte the desired viscosity for operation. Are the polyvalent ones

remains.
Otherwise, the mixing ratio of glycerin and citric acid
chosen according to the voltages for which the capacitor is intended. For
Relatively low voltage capacitors, up to about 150 volts, can be used
Glyoer content can be increased, up to about 90 parts, while the content of citric acid
is lowered to about 10 parts; for capacitors of relatively high voltage,
for about 500 volts and above, the citric acid content is expediently increased,
up to about 90 parts, while the glycerine content accordingly down to 10 parts
is lowered.
Such an electrolyte can be used both for dry, semi-dry, as
wet electrolytic capacitors can also be used. In the latter
case
a dilute solution is advantageously used, which by using a relatively
high glycerol content can be achieved. But distilled can also be used
Water can be added as a diluent.
In
The electrolyte mixture is heated to over 100 ° C up to about 130 ° C; Erhitzgn to about 1 i 5-1243 C averages cli is sufficient. The temperature depends, among other things, on the mixing ratio and is selected so that the most complete dissolution possible is achieved with the least possible loss of material. If there is excess glycerine, it may remain in the electrolyte solution as a diluent. Incidentally, it is appropriate to continue heating for about 10 minutes or more after the reaction has taken place. The capacitor winding to be impregnated is placed in the electrolyte that is expediently still hot or boiling and is prepared in this way, and allows sufficient time, e.g. B. 1 / @ hour, left. The electrolyte is then allowed to cool to about 10 ° C. above room temperature, whereby. the electrolyte is able to contract within the capacitor and further sucks in electrolytes, which ensures complete impregnation of the capacitor body. Unused electrolyte is then drained off by opening the bottom valve of the impregnation container and the capacitors are removed from the container.
