Description
The invention relates to the control of harmful insects using of mixtures of vapor or gaseous insecticidal substances with insecticidal organisehen Liquids.
So ist bereits Methylbromid in höher siedenden Flüssigkeiten,There are already various mixtures of insecticidal substances for pest control has been proposed. Methyl bromide is already in higher boiling liquids,
to- ζ. B. vaseline oil or carbon disulfide, have been used in solution. According to another known proposal, insecticidal substances such as benzyl rhodanide or high-boiling insecticidal substances such as nicotine are mixed with very low-boiling organic solvents such as chloroethyl. It is also known to use solutions of methyl formate in alcohols, esters or similar liquids as pesticides. Mixtures of an insecticidal gas, such as hydrocyanic acid, with very low-boiling insecticidal substances, such as mustard oil or hydrocyanic acid, have also been used for the same purpose. Among these numerous proposed mixtures are also those of a vaporous or gaseous or very low-boiling substances with insecticidal above 45 0 insecticidal boiling organic liquids.
Erhitzt man z. It is known that for the use of pesticides which contain several components, it is crucial that these components are released as evenly as possible into the space to be gasified. This was in the known mixtures of gaseous or very low-boiling substances with insecticidal above 45 0 boiling organic liquids not the case. If you heat z. B. the vaseline oil loaded with methyl bromide for degassing to 60 to 70 ° and, as suggested, air passes through, the air flow takes the methyl bromide with it, while the vaseline oil remains.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man gut haltbare Schädlingsbekämpfungsmittel aus Gemischen bei gewöhnlicher Temperatur dampf- bzw. gasförmiger oder sehr niedrig siedender insekticider Stoffe mit oberhalb 45" siedendenIt has now been found that pesticides with good stability can be obtained from mixtures At normal temperature, insecticidal substances that are vaporous or gaseous or have a very low boiling point and boil above 45 "
insekticiden organischen Flüssigkeiten, bei denen ein im wesentlichen gleichmäßiges Abdampfen der niedriger und der höher siedenden Komponenten stattfindet, dadurch erhalten kann, daß man diese Gemische in an,1' sich bekannter Weise in adsorptionsfähigen ί Stoffen aufsaugen läßt.insecticidal organic liquids in which a substantially uniform evaporation takes place of the lower and the higher boiling point components, can be obtained by reacting these mixtures in on, 1 a known manner can 'to absorb in adsorptive ί substances.
B. oberhalb 450 siedenden Stoffen. Belädt man z. This result was extremely surprising. It is known that absorbent substances can be loaded with gaseous or very low-boiling liquid substances in such a way that the gases or liquid vapors can be given off again. However, it is different when loading absorbent substances with higher boiling points, e.g. B. above 45 0 boiling substances. If you load z. B. Activated charcoal up to the degree of saturation with chloropicrin, then this gives off no chloropicrin at all; the coal is odorless.
The novelty of the invention is that by choosing gaseous or very low-boiling insecticides and, by choosing, more than 45 "boiling points organic liquids can contain mixtures which, when absorbed in absorbent substances, contrary to expectations are given evenly.
As gaseous or low-boiling insecticidal substances according to the invention Cyanogen chloride, ethylene oxide, dimethylamine, methyl mercaptan, methyl bromide, phosgene, vinyl bromide and the like used singly or in groups.
Als insekticide, oberhalb 450 siedende Flüssigkeiten kommen unter anderem in Betracht: Schwefelkohlenstoff, Epichlorhydrin, Chlorpikrin, Methylrhodanid, Acetylaceton, Athylendichlorid, Propylenchlorid, Trichloräthylen, Tetrachlorkohlenstoff, Chlorkohlensäureäthylester, Cyankohlensäureäthylester und andere, gegel>enenfalls mehrere dieser Flüssigkeiten. As insecticidal, above 45 0 boiling liquids are, inter alia be considered: carbon disulphide, epichlorohydrin, chloropicrin, Methylrhodanid, acetylacetone, Athylendichlorid, propylene chloride, trichlorethylene, carbon tetrachloride, Chlorkohlensäureäthylester, Cyankohlensäureäthylester and others Gegel> enenfalls more of these liquids.
The mixture is composed of the constituents of both groups in such a way that the constituents of one group in amounts of the same order of magnitude as the constituents of the other group. These mixtures are in a known manner in absorbent materials, such as Diatomite, clay, peat, charcoal or wood fiber, brought to the suction. Man contains insecticides that are easy to handle and apply.
B. wie folgt zusammengesetzt sein : • 100 Teile Methylbromid und 90 Teile Schwefelkohlenstoff oderParticularly favorable results are achieved with mixtures containing methyl bromide as contain low-boiling components, as the methyl bromide for more developed animals is relatively harmless, while it is resistant to harmful insects special depth effect. The mixtures containing 6½ methyl bromide are generally applicable. Such mixtures can, for example, B. be composed as follows: • 100 parts of methyl bromide and 90 parts of carbon disulfide or
40 Teile Methylbromid und 60 Teile Tetrachlorkohlenstoff oder40 parts of methyl bromide and 60 parts of carbon tetrachloride or
60 Teile Methylbromid und 40 Teile Chlorpikrin, jeweils aufgesaugt in roo bis 120 Teilen Kieselgur oder in 50 bis 60 Teilen Holzfaserstoff.60 parts of methyl bromide and 40 parts of chloropicrin, each absorbed in roo to 120 Parts of kieselguhr or 50 to 60 parts of wood pulp.
It has already been suggested that hydrocyanic acid be used as a pesticide absorb in porous bricks and add 2 to 30/0 chloropicrin to the product, that serves as a warning substance. In contrast to this known agent, the low-boiling insecticides are according to the invention Stolle and the insecticidal liquids boiling above 45 in the same quantities Order of magnitude absorbed in adsorptive substances. With the well-known proposal it was to be expected that the very large amounts of the low-boiling hydrocyanic acid the very small amounts of the high-boiling chloropicrin from the adsorbent will tear out. Against this it was not to be expected that the low-boiling Part of the mixture according to the invention, the higher-boiling constituent, which in quantities of the same order of magnitude is present, can flush out of the adsorbent. Surprisingly, however, insecticidal effects are obtained even with these proportions Pesticides, from which not only the low-boiling components, but also the higher-boiling ones are released in a homogeneous stream. With an appropriate choice of composition one obtains mixtures in which practically a completely uniform evaporation takes place.
