Most - known methods of creation of modulated light, such as Kerr cell, oscilloscope mirror, light lock, etc. all have the disadvantage that the size of the controllable luminous flux is very limited. In addition, these tax organs are proportionate moderately complex and expensive facilities. It is therefore desirable in particular for the purpose of light telephony, to have thermal emitters, which one so have small thermal inertia that they have their temperature with controllable power supply change up to frequencies of a few 1000 Hertz. With direct continuity of electricity The required low thermal inertia cannot be achieved with heated thin tungsten wires. Are cheaper Radiators in which an anode is electronically bombarded is heated up, because in this case primarily the extreme ao Surface can withstand temperature fluctuations. Such designs are already available have been proposed, namely the ^ used anode material consisted of, for example Tantalum carbide or tungsten carbide. However, these are also made of täntal carbide or tungsten carbide existing heaters still had too great thermal inertia to be special To meet requirements for a radiator to be modulated with audio frequencies. Because the anode must naturally consist of a material that has a very low thermal conductivity and one as well has a low heat capacity.
According to the invention, only a low heat capacity and low heat
Conductivity-possessing anode material with a cell structure that is modeled on plant or animal frameworks, and contains cell walls of less than Vioo mm thick, for electron tubes, in which the anode is heated by controlled electron bombardment, produced in that in the cell walls of a plant or animal Cell framework made of liquid, aqueous or gaseous salts of substances that are difficult to evaporate in a vacuum, e.g. B. salts of tungsten, tantalum and niobium, these substances are deposited in such a way that the cell structure of the starting material of the cell structure is retained, whereby either the deposited substance forms a compound with the starting material of the cell structure, e.g. tantalum carbide, tungsten carbide, niobium carbide, or the starting material of the ao cell structure is completely dissolved away in a gas stream and the cell structure, which now consists of pure metal, is subsequently converted into a carbide structure by supplying carbon. For this purpose, the organic tissue is expediently boiled for a long time in a solution which contains the high-melting substances or a high-melting constituent thereof, for example elder marrow in a solution of sodium tungstate. Then the high-melting substance, z. B. as oxide, precipitated. When the entire tissue is slowly burned, this oxide remains as an ash framework, and it can be converted into the pure refractory element or into a refractory compound by reduction in a hydrogen stream, in other cases by carburization in a hydrocarbon stream, whereby this process takes the form of the original cell structure is preserved.
Shows in cross-section, for example the structure of a tungsten anode as preservation by conversion of elderberry Mark * f <th was (after a photomicrograph 25ofacher magnification).
In Fig. 2, as an application example, the structure of a radiator with a schematic Ajiode drawn in accordance with the present invention. It denotes 1 the anode, 2 den Heating wire, 3 the grid for controlling the flow of electrons, 4 the screen for concentration electron bombardment on the tip of the anode.
