Abstract

Device (100; 200) for compressing data packets, comprising input means (110; 210) for receiving a first series of data packets (10) each having a header field (h) and a data field (d), identification means (110; 210) for determining the channel (A, B, ...) of the data packets received, processing means (130; 230) for compressing the data field of each data packet to be compressed, and output means (160; 260) for forming a second series (20) of data packets each having a header field and a data field, and for accommodating, in the data field of a data packet of the second series (20), a compressed data field of the first series (10), characterized in that processing means (130; 230) are provided, for compressing per channel (A, B, ...) data to be accommodated in a data field of the second series (20) and for accommodating, in each data field of the second series (20), data of only one channel (e.g. A) and buffer means (161; 261) are provided for buffering, per channel (A, B, ...) compressed data to be accommodated in a data field of the second series (20).

Description

  • Der X. Zivilsenat des Bundesgerichtshofs hat auf die mündliche Verhandlung vom 11. August 2020 für Recht erkannt:
    • Auf die Berufung und die Anschlussberufung wird das Urteil des 5. Senats (Nichtigkeitssenats) des Bundespatentgerichts vom 15. November 2017 unter Zurückweisung der weitergehenden Rechtsbehelfe abgeändert.
    • Das europäische Patent 1 280 279 wird mit Wirkung für das Hoheitsgebiet der Bundesrepublik Deutschland dadurch teilweise für nichtig erklärt, dass die Patentansprüche 1 bis 20 wegfallen, die Patentansprüche 21 und 22 die nachfolgend wiedergegebene Fassung erhalten und die Patentansprüche 23 bis 26 sich auf diese Fassung zurückbeziehen:
      • 21. Device (100; 200) for compressing data packets, comprising input means (110; 210) for receiving a first series of data packets (10) each having a header field (h) and a data field (d), identification means (110; 210) for determining the channel (A, B, ...) of the data packets received, processing means (130; 230) for compressing the data field of each data packet to be compressed, and output means (160; 260) for forming a second series (20) of data packets each having a header field and a data field, and for accommodating, in the data field of a data packet of the second series (20), a compressed data field of the first series (10), characterized in that processing means (130; 230) are provided, for compressing per channel (A, B, ...) data to be accommodated in a data field of the second series (20) and for accommodating, in each data field of the second series (20), data of only one channel (e.g. A) and buffer means (161; 261) are provided for buffering, per channel (A, B, ...) compressed data to be accommodated in a data field of the second series (20).
      • 22. Device (100; 200) according to claim 21, wherein said buffer means are separate buffer means (161; 261).

Claims (6)

  1. Device (100; 200) for compressing data packets, comprising input means (110; 210) for receiving a first series of data packets (10) each having a header field (h) and a data field (d), identification means (110; 210) for determining the channel (A, B, ...) of the data packets received, processing means (130; 230) for compressing the data field of each data packet to be compressed, and output means (160; 260) for forming a second series (20) of data packets each having a header field and a data field, and for accommodating, in the data field of a data packet of the second series (20), a compressed data field of the first series (10), characterized in that processing means (130; 230) are provided, for compressing per channel (A, B, ...) data to be accommodated in a data field of the second series (20) and for accommodating, in each data field of the second series (20), data of only one channel (e.g. A) and buffer means (161; 261) are provided for buffering, per channel (A, B, ...) compressed data to be accommodated in a data field of the second series (20).
  2. Device (100; 200) according to claim 21, wherein said buffer means are separate buffer means (161; 261).
  3. Device (100; 200) according to claims 21 or 22, wherein for each channel (A, B, ..) memory space is reserved in a memory (150;250;BP) common to the channels.
  4. Device (100; 200) according to claims 21 to 23, wherein means are provided for generating trailer data.
  5. Device (100; 200) according to claims 21 to 24, wherein the processing means (130; 230) are arranged for decompressing data packets.
  6. System for transmitting data packets in compressed form, comprising at least a device according to any of the claims 21 to 25.
