Description

Process for protecting stacked or rolled up nitrocellulose sheets or films against fire It is known that urea and guanidili, as well as salts these compounds can be used as fire extinguishing agents. The present The invention now relates to a method for protecting stacked or rolled-up items Nitrocellulose sheets or films against fire, in which the fire-protecting substances of the mentioned type are used. If you look in a known manner on one to inflammation come roll or: a stack of nitrocellulose sheets the substances mentioned pours, an extinction occurs on the outside, but the inside decomposes the roll or the stack further, so that the material is destroyed. this will prevented by the new procedure. According to the invention are in the stacks or roles Flat materials made from nitrocellulose sheets or films, such as cellulose hydrate sheets, Fabric, paper, shot in, which is impregnated with urea or guanidine. Salts of these compounds can also be used instead of urea or guanidine which form melts when heated. Phosphates are particularly suitable. These salts are best incorporated into the flat structures in such a way that they are drawn through aqueous solutions of the salts and then dried. If a film roll or film that is protected in the manner described occurs If an inflammation occurs in its stack, then this point initially develops from it urea or guanidine compounds present a melt, which the flame immediately suffocates and makes any spread of the fire impossible.
