Die Luft strömt in Richtung der WandebeneWhen the ship is moving, the
Foredeck displaces both water and air.
The water is lifted and forms the bow wave. The air rises on the ship's wall
high, with the component of this airflow that is perpendicular to the ship's wall
the well-known image of an air stream hitting a wall perpendicularly shows »
The air flows in the direction of the wall plane
gemacht wird.ίο beyond the top of the wall and
bends at a certain distance from this edge in its original direction (perpendicular
to the wall). The air rising at the forecastle therefore tears the air through the combing one
The bow wave creates splashes upwards and blows them like a veil over the
Foredeck. In fast moving ships, this water veil can appear so strong that
that thereby the operation of the ship on the forecastle is severely hindered or completely impossible
is made.
According to the invention, this disadvantage has been eliminated in that the on the forecastle wall
rising air currents are sucked in a known manner by means of a fan into the ship's interior and the
sucked air after separation of the water by the blower above the suction points
is pushed out of the hull, so that this compressed air does not
sucked part of the air currents rising on the foredeck wall is pushed away from the ship's wall. This becomes opposite
the known simple suction of the air streams achieved the advantage that the fan
has a much greater effect because the air sucked out is not useless from the
Pressed out inside the ship, but can be used for the same purpose as suction
is made.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the invention. The drawing shows the forecastle in vertical cross-section. The air currents rising on the forecastle wall are sucked into the interior of the ship through the opening c by means of the fan b driven, for example, by an electric motor α The water sucked in with it collects in the lower part of the suction chamber d and is discharged through a scupper. The air sucked in by means of the fan is then conveyed to the outside again through the duct e , in such a way that it exits below the upper deck through the opening f In this case, the part of the air flow rising on the forecastle, which is sucked off through the opening c, is pressed away from the ship's wall by this flow of compressed air.
The suction openings c are expediently arranged offset in the longitudinal direction of the ship with respect to the outlet points f of the compressed air.
