Bleioxydhaltiger Kitt Bleioxydkitte, bestehend aus einem innigen Gemisch von Bleioxyd (Bleiglätte) mit Glycerin oder Glykol, haben schon Verwendung gefunden zum Kitten von Glas oder Porzellan oder Stein unter sich oder auf Metallen sowie zum Abdichten von Apparaten u. dgl. Durch die Verknappung von Glycerin auf dem Weltmarkt steht dies aber nicht mehr in ausreichender Menge und nicht für alle Zwecke zur Verfügung, so daß man gezwungen ist, in weitgehendem Maße von Ersatzstoffen Gebrauch zu machen. Auch Glykol steht nur in beschränkten Mengen zur Verfügung, da es in stärkstem Maße als Glycerinersatz herangezogen wird, z. Die erhältlichen Kittmassen binden ebenso rasch ab wie Glycerinbleioxydkitte. Dabei bietet die Verwendung von Alkylestern aliphatischer Oxosäuren zur Herstellung von Bleioxydkitten noch den weiteren Vorteil, daß man noch andere für Kitt und Klebezwecke häufig gebrauchte organische Substanzen, wie z. B. Celluloseester und -äther und Harze, mitverwenden kann, da die Alkylester der aliphatischen Oxosäuren, wie z. B. Brenztraubensäureäthylester, einausgezeichnetes Lösevermögen für zahlreiche organische Stoffe, wie z. B. Acetylcellulose, besitzen. Im Gegensatz dazu weisen die mehrwertigen Alkohole, wie Glycerin oder Glykol, kein oder nur sehr geringes Lösevermögen für Celluloseester, Harze u. dgl. auf, so daß ihre Verwendung für Bleioxydkitte die Mitverwendung vieler anderer für Herstellung von Kittmassen gebräuchlicher Stoffe nicht gestattet. Ausführungsbeispiele i. Celluloseester und -äther, mit-,Verwendet werden, so daß man auf diese Weise @u bleioxydhaltigen Spezialkitten für die ver-;"schi.edenartigsten Zwecke kommt, was mit den Pisher bekannten Glycerin oder Glykol enthaltenden Bleioxydkitten nicht oder nicht in so großem Umfang möglich ist.
