Zweckmäßigerweise wird man die Platte in Form und Größe so wählen, daß sie in der Filmkassette untergebracht werden kann. Auch die Unterteilung wird man den in Frage kommenden Messungen anpassen. Bei einem Vergleich der Hypophyse mit dem Schädel empfiehlt sich ein Quadratmillimeternetz für das Gebiet der Hypophyse und ein Quadratzentimeternetz für den übrigen Schädel.
