Description
Process for obtaining glycerine from carbohydrate-containing substances fermented on glycerine Liquids In the production of fermentation glycerine from liquids containing carbohydrates, is known to be obtained in particular by fermenting thick stillage or molasses heavily contaminated mixtures. When extracting this glycerine from such heavily contaminated mixtures one has always encountered difficulties so far, since, for example, impurities of an organic nature, such as protein bodies, are organic Bases and the like, adhere to the glycerol in such a way that perfect separation of the It is difficult to obtain glycerine from these substances.
The present invention relates to a method of glycerol from such Mixtures that are used in the production of fermentation glycerine containing carbohydrates Liquids. Accumulate to dissolve out in such a way that the impurities remain.
According to the new process, such mixtures are produced with such amounts of colloidal substances of an organic or inorganic nature, which at the same time are absorbent Have properties, mixed, that a solid mass is formed. From the thus obtained solid mass, if necessary after previous drying, becomes the glycerine detached. The solid mass can be used in various forms, e.g. B. in the form of a powder, in the form of compacts, in granulated form, etc. As colloidal substances come in this way of working z. B. kieselguhr, diatomaceous chalk, active Coal, sawdust, peat, lignin, fuller's earth, clays and the like are used. As a solvent for glycerine are, as is known, e.g. B. aliphatic alcohols, such as methyl, ethyl, Propyl, butyl and amyl alcohol, or ketones, such as acetone or methyl ethyl ketone, Ether alcohols or esters, such as ethyl acetate, are suitable. Mixtures can also be used of the solvents mentioned are used.
The mixture obtained after extraction, which consists of glycerine, It consists of water, solvents and only those impurities that can easily be found can be separated can be worked up in a simple manner. That after this The glycerin obtained by the process is quite light-colored and is sufficient e.g. B. the requirements, which are placed on dynamite glycerine.
The new work-up process has the advantage over known methods that a pre-cleaning or a concentration of the mixture is omitted and that Glycerine from the mostly stubbornly adhering impurities completely can be separated. In addition, the yields of glycerol in this process are better than the known methods.
For the extraction of glycerine from molasses liquor one has already suggested, to "dry the molasses mash as much as possible and then the glycerine." to dissolve out of the dried product. However, this procedure is great with Difficulties involved and does not provide any usable glycerine, as a drying process the stillage cannot be carried out in such a way that a completely dry product can be obtained in the form of a powder. Receives when drying stillage one rather always a viscous syrupy mass, the extraction of which is great in practice Causes difficulties and in which a usable glycerine can never be obtained can. On the other hand, in the method of the present invention, as the starting material for the extraction easily pourable, dry products obtained from which the glycerine can be easily removed in a known manner.
Beispiele: i. 2 Teile Dickschlempe (3o° Be) werden
mit einem Teil Kieselgur gleichmäßig ver-
2. 3 Teile Dickschlempe werden nzit i Teil Sägemehl vermischt. Die erhaltene Masse wird mit Methanol extrahiert. Die Aufarbeitung des Extraktes geschieht wie in Beispiel i.2. 3 parts thick stillage are mixed with 1 part sawdust. the obtained mass is extracted with methanol. The extract is worked up as in example i.
Das Glycerin wird abgetrennt und destilliert: Man erhält bei der Destillation nur wenig Rückstand, da sich das so gewonnene Glycerin durch hohe Reinheit auszeichnet.3. i part peat is mixed with 23 parts thick stillage, which was obtained by fermenting molasses under such conditions; that mainly glycerine was produced, mixed. The mass is dried and extracted with ethyl acetate: the solution obtained is concentrated, whereby the glycerol separates out, while the impurities remain dissolved in the ethyl acetate above. The glycerine is separated off and distilled: only a small amount of residue is obtained in the distillation, since the glycerine obtained in this way is characterized by its high degree of purity.
Man erhält so ein 8oo/oiges Rohglycerin, welches durch Destillation weitergereinigt wird..4. 23 parts of the thick stillage mentioned in Example 3 are with a Part of the pre-dried sawdust is mixed in a mixing screw and then in freed from the existing moisture in a vacuum dryer. The crowd is on this extracted with methyl ethyl ketone. The extract is evaporated and centrifuged. This gives an 80% crude glycerol which is further purified by distillation will.
