Method for operating a coke oven with a coke oven in the ceiling
Gas collecting duct In coke ovens there is often a gas collecting duct in the unheated chamber ceiling
provided with the aim of immediately discharging the resulting gases from the heated chamber
and through this channel the riser pipe, which is generally located at one end of the furnace
to feed. The use of such a Gassamm.elkanals is intended to decompose
or gases on the hot furnace wall or furnace ceiling are avoided. The
Gas collecting channel combined with the riser pipe to form a closed channel, namely
in such a way that the riser pipe only opened into the gas collecting duct and this with it
the chamber by distributed along its length, arranged laterally from the riser pipe
adjustable gas passage openings was connected.
With this construction, the riser pipe and the collecting duct are so far into one
Unity melted so that the collecting duct is considered a continuation of the riser pipe
can, whereby the pressure or in the collecting channel. Train conditions widely mastered
will.
The volume of the gas collecting duct must be suitable for the first hours of cooking
Accruing large amount of gas can be provided. But since in the second half of the
Cooking time the amount of gas is significantly less, the little gas remains undesirable
stand for a long time in the gas collecting duct or in the free space above the feed, whereby
the effect aimed for by the gas collecting duct is canceled again. Thereupon
To increase the gas suction is impossible under normal operating conditions, there
an oven battery is usually connected to the same suction device,
in which all bfen are in a different cooking state.
The suction cannot therefore be used for each individual chamber within a cooking time
can be changed continuously. Likewise, it is not possible to use the slider over the
individual passage openings in the bottom of the gas collecting channel during each cooking time
to change the changing pressure conditions in the gas collecting duct accordingly.
But even with the gate valves closed, the suction present in the riser pipe would have to be
work for the entire length of the gas collecting duct. According to the invention
these disadvantages are avoided, i.e. the gas collecting duct with advancing
Cooking time, for example by means of a slide gate that can be operated from the oven ceiling,
is shortened in sections. In each case, the furthest from the riser pipe is
remote part of the gas collecting duct is switched off. In the remaining part
of the gas collecting channel can then easily be used for an expedient gas discharge
Maintain the required low negative pressure in the duct. The slightly further way
the gas that is still produced to the remaining duct section is made faster by the
Discharge of the gases canceled.
The method according to the invention
can be used in the same way in chamber furnaces in which the riser pipe
at <;, one end of the chamber is provided, even in the case of ovens in which it is in the
Mitt6; @@ a chamber or at any other position of the gas collecting duct.
When the riser pipe is in the middle of the chamber, individual units are switched off
Canal sections from the chamber ends.
The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the invention:
Fig. I is a longitudinal section through the ceiling of a horizontal chamber with a gas collecting duct,
Fig.2 a horizontal section along the line A-B in Fig. I.
The riser pipe 2 only opens into the gas collecting channel i, which extends over the entire length of the chamber, and forms a self-contained unit with the latter. The gas collecting channel i is routed as a closed channel around the filling openings 3a to 3, d, so that there is no connection with the chamber at these points. Only the openings d., Which can be rectangular or round, serve as gas passage openings. The passage openings 4 are distributed as evenly as possible over the length of the chamber. The cross-sectional area of these openings is the same size; it can be adapted to the respective requirements by means of the slide 5. The slide 6, which can be operated from the furnace ceiling, is used for the shortening of the gas collecting duct i in sections according to the invention. In the exemplary embodiment, only one separating slide is provided. In the same way, however, other such separating slides can also be present between the filling openings 3 b, 3 c and 3 c, 3 d , with the slides most distant from the riser pipe being closed first, depending on the progress of the degassing time.
