Zusatz zum Zusatzpatent 588Addition to additional patent 588

Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 18. Oktober 1930 ab Das Hauptpatent 582 239 hat angefangen am 17. März 1929.Patented in the German Empire on October 18, 1930 The main patent 582 239 started on March 17, 1929.

The subject of patent 582 239 is a process for bleaching bast fibers, in particular linen, hemp and the like, using superoxide and hypochlorite baths, which is characterized in that the crude fiber is subjected to alternating treatment with hydrogen peroxide and chlorine baths in the sequence becomes: superoxide, chlorine (acidic), intermediate washing by scalding with soda solution, chlorine (alkaline to neutral), superoxide. According to the patent 588 872 it has been found that the first and last stage of the process are advantageously modified when the task at hand is to first bring the goods to a lower bleach level (quarter to about half white) from this product instead of full white but with certainty to remove the straw parts. This modification consists in that, instead of the first superoxide treatment, the raw fibers are first subjected to moistening, ie boiling in soda solution for about 2 to 3 hours (4 to 6o / o calc. Soda, based on the raw weight of the goods) Then, after washing out the Koehlauge, introduces the acidic chlorine bath corresponding to the second process stage of the main patent, whereupon the process continues, as described in the main patent, up to and including the fourth stage, whereby the fifth stage can be omitted.

It has now also been found that the first stage of the procedure can be simplified in some cases by simply soaking the goods in a warm alkali solution instead of soaking them in a boiling soda solution by soaking the latter at temperatures between 60 and 90 0 can act on the goods and then for a few hours, z. B. overnight, the goods are left in the solution without additional heat supply. For example, soda solutions with about 4 to 6% calc. Soda, based on the gross weight of the goods, is suitable, which may also contain caustic alkali. After this soaking process, the goods are briefly washed and then further treated in accordance with the further process steps according to patent 588 872 of chlorine bleaching in an acidic solution, etc.

The technical advantage of the new amendment to the procedure is that it remains unchanged complete removal of the straw parts (scraping) the weight and strength ^. · Losses of the commodity still experience a noticeable reduction; this result is in ■ can be largely attributed to the omission of the booking.
