Vorliegende Erfindung besteht in einem Kettenglied, bei welchem möglichst grofse Stärke und geringes Gewicht vereinigt sind, während der Hauptzweck darin liegt, das Glied derart zu formen, dafs das Material, aus welchem dasselbe hergestellt ist, bei Benutzung der Kette in allen Theilen möglichst gleichmäfsig beansprucht wird. Aufserdem soll das Festklemmen der Glieder verhindert werden. Letztere wird an dem Ende a* der Querstange befestigt, bei welchem die erste Schleife α¹ beginnt. Durch diese Construction wird der auf die Kette ausgeübte Zug einerseits nach einem Ende der Querstange a, andererseits nach dem entgegengesetzten Ende derselben übertragen, so dafs das Material an allen Stellen des Gliedes möglichst gleichmäfsig beansprucht wird. Aufserdem ist durch die Weite der einzelnen Glieder, welche stets gröfser ist als die Stärke des Materials bei B, ein Festklemmen derselben gegen einander ausgeschlossen. Wie aus Fig. 3 ersichtlich, gestattet die Construction der Kette die Anwendung derselben auch für Kettenradbetrieb.
