The invention relates to a device for the automatic control of electrical apparatus
depending on the level fluctuations of a liquid with the help of an alternating closing and opening
an electrical circuit causing electrode. About the duration of the contact
To extend during the emptying process, according to the invention, the electrode is arranged in a chamber which, on the one hand, is in
the height of the starting level through openings, on the other hand at its lower part
communicates with the liquid through a nozzle of small cross-section. the
narrow nozzle slows down the flow of liquid that occurs in the chamber when
the liquid level begins to fall; this increases the time of contact with the electrode
extended by the * sinking liquid. In this way, for example
Too frequent starting when controlling an electric pump or contactor drive
and stopping the electric motor is avoided. The dimensions of the chamber and the nozzle determine the duration of the contact
depending on the sinking of the water level in the chamber.

a chamber containing the electrode in section on an enlarged scale.
According to Fig. 1 is in the main circuit of a z. B. a pump driving electric motor Al switched on a single electrode through which the motor M depending on the level changes of a liquid container is controlled so that it starts at a certain maximum level 2V 1 and when the level has dropped by a certain amount , comes to a standstill. As FIG. 2 shows, this electrode E is arranged in a chamber which is formed by the tube T which is attached to it and is immersed in the liquid container, and has N x holes O at the level of the tempering level. At its lower end, the tube T merges into a nozzle A of small cross-section, which delays the movement of the liquid inside the tube T when the level in the liquid container begins to fall during pumping out. The electrode is connected according to Fig. 1 to one terminal of the motor M , the other terminal of which is connected to the phase line P of a distribution network which has earth as a neutral point or normal return line, so that a complete completion of the circuit through the liquid of the earthed container results.
