Sind mehrere Motoren vorhanden, die jedoch nicht gleichzeitig laufen, so begnügt man sich oft mit einer geringeren Anzahl von Generatoren und sieht eine geeignete Umschaltung vor, so daß jeder Motor nach Wahl von jedem Generator gespeist werden kann. Eine solche Wahlschaltung muß vor allem die Sicherheit bieten, daß nicht etwa von verschiedenen Stellen aus ein Generator zur Versorgung von mehr Stromabnehmern, als er seiner Leistung nach speisen kann, gewählt wird. Diese Forderung wird erfindungsgemäß durch ein jedem Stromerzeuger zugeordnetes Relais erfüllt, welches so viel Erregerspulen erhält, als Stromabnehmer vorhanden sind, und welches anspricht, wenn z -{- i Spulen erregt werden, wobei z die Zahl der Stromabnehmer darstellt, mit denen die vorhandene Stromquelle gleichzeitig belastet werden darf. Das Relais wirkt dabei beim Ansprechen in bekannter Weise auf Schutzschalter weniger wichtiger Stromabnehmer oder optische und akustische Signale.
