Als Kontaktmassen werden dabei Gemische der Verbindungen von Kalium, Rubidium oder Cäsium mit leicht reduzierbaren Metalloxyden oder deren Verbindungen oder Reduktionsprodukten, einschließlich der freien Metalle, verwendet.
