In electric household stoves mostly hot plates are used, the effect of which is based on heat conduction. With these is it is important for proper operation that the surface of the hotplate and the surface of the bottom of the pot is completely flat to ensure good heat transfer from the hotplate to the cooking vessel. A certain disadvantage of this type of hob is the need to Use saucepans with a thick base. For hotplates with radiant heaters there is this disadvantage does not. However, the performance of these hotplates is very low. Man has tubular heating elements for the hotplates in order to achieve high heating outputs used, which give off their heat through radiation. With this arrangement, the Tubular heating elements carried by crossing webs, so that the heat on all sides is blasted. A large part of the heat is lost through convection of the air. The efficiency of such an arrangement is accordingly low.
To improve the radiation effect, reflectors are also installed under the radiator arranged, which reflect the downward heat radiation on the cooking vessel. In this arrangement, however, the reflector is soiled by the overcooking of food, so that its radiation effect is lost.
In another arrangement, tubular heating elements of spiral wound form are used circular cross-section freely borne above a metal sheet, below which a Insulator z. B. is arranged from ceramic material. Here too, heat goes through Convection is lost and the insulating body with its large mass absorbs a lot of heat on.
Tubular heating elements with an elliptical cross-section are also in turns above a sheet has been arranged in a cantilevered manner.
The invention relates to hotplates, in which tubular heating elements in a sinuous Form are arranged on a support plate. It consists in the fact that the flat-tube heating elements are designed as known per se Radiators are attached upright on the support plate and that underneath the support plate through a plate adjoining this one for receiving the connection lines and for thermal insulation downward serving closed Cavity is formed.
Ferner aberThe upright position of the flat tube heating element in the hotplate according to the invention has the effect that the turns of the tubular heater can be very close to each other. This initially creates the Advantage achieved that many turns of the radiator on a certain area can be accommodated. But further

B. mitthe heat is effectively radiated over a very large area; A very large amount of heat energy can therefore be given off; the radiator is very resilient. .
The support plate of the flat tube heater is expediently designed to be wave-shaped so that it can better absorb the thermal expansions. Below the support plate, a cavity is created by a second, expediently corrugated plate, the edge of which adjoins that of the support plate. This cavity, which is completely watertight, is used to accommodate the supply lines to the radiator and for thermal insulation downwards. The thermal insulation can be improved by inserting one or more metal foils. The whole thing is with an ordinary connection for the power supply, z. B. with
In the figure, an embodiment of the invention is shown.
The tubular heating element consists of a flat metal tube d, which contains, for example, a meandering heating wire c in insulating compound b . This arrangement is advantageous because the heat path from the heating conductor to the metal jacket is short and the radiation surfaces are large and inexpensive.
On the wave-shaped support plate α , the tubular heating element is fastened on edge at .Stellen i by welding. Below the support plate α , the plate e, which is also expediently wave-shaped, is arranged. In the cavity between the two sheets α and e are the connecting lines leading to the connector pins and optionally metal foils / '. through which the thermal insulation from below is improved.
The hotplate described has the advantage that it has a very favorable thermal effect and has a high heating output. Food that boils over and gets into the space between the coils of the radiator on the support plate, cannot stay there because they burn immediately due to the high temperatures.
