Die Anschläge können an einer Seite oder auch an verschiedenen Seiten des Fahrzeuges angeordnet sein. An welcher Seite sie aber auch herausragen mögen, sie erfordern stets besondere Ausnehmungen, ζ. B. im Mauerwerk oder bei der Eisenkonstruktion von/ Überoder Unterführungen bei Bahnsteigen und Tunnels. Die Herstellung dieser für zwei Fahrzeuganschläge Raum gebenden Ausnehmungen ist teuer.
