Description
Hohlkörpern aus Stahl Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Härten der Oberfläche von zylindrischen Stahlkörpern (Wellen, Zapfen u. dgl.) sowie der inneren Oberfläche von zylindrischen Hohlkörpern (Rohren u. dgl.).Process for quench hardening the surface or the inner surface of cylindrical solid or hollow bodies made of steel The present invention relates a process for hardening the surface of cylindrical steel bodies (shafts, Cones and the like) as well as the inner surface of cylindrical hollow bodies (tubes and the like).
It is a method of hardening the surface of cylindrical objects by heating to the hardening temperature by means of a jet flame with a subsequent one Liquid deterrence is known. To perform this procedure a flat burner is used, the flame of which is parallel to the axis of the rotating one Object arranged, the surface is heated. This creates with every revolution at the border point where the process begins and ends, an unavoidable false hardening. In addition, due to the limited flame width, the hardening can take place over a length of a few decimeters can only be made in lines, so that where two strips meet, there is also an incorrectly hardened area. Burners are also known which have a closed ring of individual flames supply, which serve to heat the surface of horizontally arranged shafts; the following wreath-shaped jet of 'splashing water has due to the horizontal Able to mingle with the flame, thereby stopping the burner from operating and the heating effect of the flame can be adversely affected. To avoid this Disadvantages according to the invention of this known burner, which has a ring shape closed, radial, centripetal or centrifugal depending on the surface to be hardened directed flame supplies, together with the also known to him downstream Liquid jet in the axial direction from bottom to top on the surface to be hardened guided along the vertical cylindrical body, so that the hardening liquid runs below the flame along the already hardened areas. For hardening the burner is arranged in a ring around the body and the flame centripetally directed, whereas for the hardening of the inner surface of hollow bodies the Burner inside the body is running and the ring of flames is centrifugally directed.
When hollow bodies are hardened, the exhaust gases from the flame pass through a stream of fresh air under pressure is conveyed to the outside, so that the same at their formation mixed with fresh air and cooled, no premature warming of the body above the hardened area. Keeping the outside cool Wall, especially in the case of hollow bodies several millimeters thick, is caused by that at the same time during the hardening process the outer wall by means of fresh water is kept cool. An example of an arrangement for execution of the procedure can be found in the accompanying drawing.

The threaded spindle is parallel to the vertically positioned shaft a (Fig. I and 2). b arranged, the speed of rotation can be adjusted at will. As it rotates, the spindle b drives the burner guide c from bottom to top in the direction of the arrow. The guide e is provided with rollers, which slide resiliently on the shaft a and hold the burner e, which is firmly coupled to the guide c, concentric to the shaft a. The burner head e is designed in such a way that the flame / and the water shower g are directed in a ring towards the center (centripetal) and thus carry out the hardening during the upward movement. A baffle plate is attached between the flame / and the liquid jet g, which prevents the hardening liquid from entering the flame zone: the spray water then runs off downwards and is caught in a suitable manner. With tube h (Fig. 3 and .4) is the elastic guide! with rollers k and slots l arranged inside the tube. The drive in the direction of the arrow is carried out by means of cable pulls. The burner, which is tightly coupled with the guide i concentrically to the pipe, is designed in such a way that the flame p and the water shower g are directed outwards (centrifugally) in a ring and thus harden the inner surface during the upward movement. 'Fresh air is blown through the nozzle r at the lower end of the pipe k under pressure into the pipe interior, so that the exhaust gases are cooled and quickly discharged upwards. If necessary, the nozzle r can be connected to the guide i and, just like the supplies for the gas, t and the spray water u, can be provided with hoses, which are carried along with the upward movement. At the upper end of the pipe lt, the water shower v is arranged in a suitable manner in order to keep the outer wall of the pipe cool from top to bottom by flushing with fresh water.
The direction of the flame and the water may radiate if necessary get an angle other than go °.
Anwendung. The process takes place with the appropriate design of the burner guide for pipe bends, elbows and the like.
Instead of the burner, the object to be hardened can analogously with the stationary Burners would be powered.
