Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Spieläppar'at, welcher durch die Vereinigung eines deutschen Billards mit dem Tivoli entstanden ist. Die Banden bezw. die äufseren Begrenzungen sind dabei nicht, wie bisher üblich, rechteckig, polygonal oder rund, sondern elliptisch.The present invention relates to a Spieläppar'at, which by the association of a German billiards with the Tivoli. Mit α ist die Platte bezeichnet, auf welcher das Tuch b aufruht. Eine unmittelbare Berührung findet jedoch nur in der Mitte statt; an dem Rand sind nach innen scharf auslaufende Keile c zwischen die Platte α und das Tuch b eingeschoben. Diese Keile sind so gestaltet, dafs dieselben an einander gereiht sowohl mit ihren inneren als auch äufseren Begrenzungen Ellipsen bilden. An die äufseren Ränder schliefsen sich die Banden d an. Durch das Tuch b, die Keile c und die Platte a reichen senkrechte Durchbrechungen e hindurch, welche am unteren Ende nach aufsen hin gekrümmt sind und an welche Auffanggefäfse f sich anschliefsen. Bälle also, welche beim Spiel in keine der Durchbrechungen e hineingerathen, laufen an dem schrägen Theil der Spielfläche wieder herab. Das Entstehen von Eckstellungen -ist somit theils durch die elliptische Form — Vermeiden der Ecken überhaupt —, theils dadurch ausgeschlossen, dafs die Bälle selbstthätig von der Bande fortgetrieben werden. Die elliptische Form ist aus dem Grunde angezeigt, weil bei runder Gestaltung des Apparates die Spielbälle schwer zu erreichen sein würden, falls man nicht derart kleine Abmessungen wählen will, welche ein Interesse am Spiel ausschliefsen.The plate on which the cloth b rests is designated with α.
