Description

Method for converting vitamin B2 into a fat-soluble, easily Fissile form Vitamin B2 (lactoflavin) is light in water, but in fats completely insoluble. To prepare a solution that contains both lipoid soluble vitamins as well as containing vitamin B2, it is necessary to have this latter vitamin likewise in a lipoid-soluble, but easily cleavable form. It has been found that the action of acetone on vitamin B2 (lactoflavin) a lipoid-soluble acetone compound of vitamin B2 is obtained, which is already through very dilute acids such as B. the acid of the stomach, is split again, whereby the effective vitamin is set free.

Beispiel i Gewichtsteil kristallisiertes Lactoflavin wird mit iooo Gewichtsteilen trockenem Aceton, das i % Salzsäure enthält, i--Stunden geschüttelt. Example i part by weight of crystallized lactoflavin is with iooo Parts by weight of dry acetone containing 1% hydrochloric acid, shaken for 1 hour. Neutralize, evaporate most of the acetone in vacuo, dilute with Water and shake out with chloroform. The chloroform-soluble acetone lactoflavin is recrystallized from aqueous alcohol after removal of the chloroform.
