andere Weise, z. B. durch Einwirkenlassen von Kaliumchlorat, Phosphorsäureanhydrid
oder Sulfurylchlorid auf Phosphorchlorür, zu erzeugen.Preparation of phosphorus oxychloride It is known that boiling phosphorus trichloride can gradually be converted into phosphorus oxychloride on treatment with oxygen. According to known data, only 3.79 phosphorus oxychloride could be obtained in 3 days when oxygen was passed through 40 g of boiling phosphorus chloride. When ozone is used instead of oxygen, as was further found, the oxidation proceeds rapidly. However, this working method is technically out of the question. It was therefore forced to use the phosphorus oxychloride technically in other ways, e.g. B. by allowing potassium chlorate, phosphoric anhydride or sulfuryl chloride to act on phosphorus chloride.
The surprising finding was made that phosphorus chlorine
can be oxidized to phosphorus oxychlori.d in a short time by ozone-free oxygen gas
can, provided you are below the boiling point of the trichloride or the resulting
Trichloride oxychloride mixtures works. It was also found that the oxidation
is inhibited by foreign substances, e.g. B. by sulfur, rubber, iron compounds.
The reason why the technical representation of the phosphorus oxychloride from Phosp.horchlorür
and oxygen was not previously feasible, is evidently that the essential
Conditions, working below the boiling point and keeping away harmful impurities,
not previously known and not taken into account. A phosphorus chloride,
which initially does not react with oxygen can, as we have found, in almost all of them
Cases already by distillation in a rapidly oxidables below the boiling point
Convert product while also being a pure product when you boil it with it
Oxygen treated, is only very slowly oxidized. The explanation for this is
that the dilution of the oxygen by the phosphorus oxychloride vapor on boiling
the reaction speed obviously decreased. According to the present invention
the oxidation is caused by long contact between phosphorus chlorine and oxygen,
how they z. B. by using high columns of liquid through which oxygen bubbles,
is achieved, or accelerated by thorough mixing.
