Electric motor-driven siren The subject of patent 623 175 is an electric motor-driven siren in which the reaction force of the switched-on drive motor is used to control the air outlet openings. However, it is very difficult to close the air outlet openings so tightly that the generation of sound is completely prevented. In order to achieve clear communication, especially when sending Morse code using a siren, the complete interruption of the sound between the individual characters is a requirement.
According to the present invention, there is a total interruption of the sound
achieved in that the air inlet openings instead of the air outlet openings
controlled by the reaction force of the running motor. Even if
the closure parts do not seal completely when the engine is switched off, it will still
the amount of air flowing in must be so small that with the outlet openings fully open
an audible sound is no longer generated. An even better break will be
achieved when both the air inlet and outlet openings through at the same time
the reaction force can be controlled. It is advantageous to work on the housing

when actuated by the reaction force, the inlet and outlet openings if possible
close tightly.
bleiben. If a three-phase motor is used to drive it, it is under utilization
The reaction force also makes it possible to almost avoid the siren wailing. It is

Rings in the starting position holds, so dimensioned that they only when switching
of the motor from star to delta due to the increasing moment of the reaction force
is overcome. This makes it possible, for example when signaling larger ones

Abb. i und a der Zeichnung zeigen eine beispielsweise Ausführung des
Erfindungsgedankens.
Fig. I and a of the drawing show an example embodiment of the inventive concept. The siren wheel c sits on the axis b of the electric motor a, which is arranged vertically. The housing of the motor is rotatably mounted in a bearing on a plate d. On the upper side, a second bearing f is provided, which is located in the cover g of a housing k surrounding the motor and the siren. The motor shaft b is guided in this bearing f. The whole housing can thus rotate around points e and f. There is a concentric ring on the motor housing! attached, within which the wheel of the siren rotates at a small distance. The ring! is provided with air inlet openings s and air outlet openings L. An additional ring (which also has a corresponding number of openings) is arranged on the housing h.
Gehäuse des Motors a und damit Ring i
By rotating the ring i with respect to the housing h, it is possible to completely close the outlet openings L and the inlet openings s or to open them completely in order to interrupt the sound generation at will. In the position shown (Fig. 2, section AB and C-, D) the air inlet and outlet openings of the siren are completely closed in any position of the siren impeller. The housing of the motor a and thus ring i are, since the motor is switched off, held in the starting position by a spring n fastened between the motor a and the outer housing. The rotation of the housing is limited by the stops Y and y1. The holding force can, for. B. can be adjusted by its screw q. If the motor is now switched on so that the siren impeller rotates in the direction of the arrow, the housing is rotated by the reaction against the spring force until the nose o hits the stop: In this position the air inlet and outlet openings are fully open. The siren will then sound in full. If the motor is suddenly switched off, the spring n will suddenly return the housing to its previous position. This means that the sound generation is interrupted immediately despite the siren wheel continuing to run. It is therefore possible by interrupting the power supply to give Morse code with an almost constant pitch. This also prevents the unpleasant wailing of the expiring siren. Despite the simplicity of construction, the greatest possible operational safety is guaranteed with the siren designed according to the invention.
