Description

Multi-layer newsprint To improve the performance of newsprint machines to increase and improve the quality of the print, a paper is required which prevents the penetration of the printing ink, without the print receptivity to affect the two printing surfaces. This is what it has today known newsprint. It has been shown that when printing the a paper surface (front side) the printing ink penetrates too deeply into the paper and often breaks through and that thereby the pressure absorption capacity of the other paper surface (Back) has become smaller in these places. As a result, the The printing ink on the reverse side is sometimes not dry enough. About this apparition To fix it, attempts have been made to improve the printing ink, but without doing so to be able to improve the performance and quality of the print to the desired extent. Attempts have also been made to glue the newsprint more firmly in order to make it suitable for the To make printing ink more impermeable. However, this reduces the pressure sensitivity of paper surfaces has been reduced. Experiments with anfin colors have shown that today's newsprint for these dyes because of the carbon dioxide the color is completely unusable.

The newsprint according to the invention should now strike through of the printing ink without impairing the pressure sensitivity of the paper surfaces can be avoided and the impact of the color is limited to the same depth on both sides will.

The multi-layer newsprint according to the invention consists made of usually glued outer layers and a middle layer, which is leaned over in such a way that it does not let the printing ink through. This paper is made up in other words, made of two surface layers, which, as before, are made as pressure-sensitive as possible and an over-sized middle layer that is impermeable to the printing ink. This middle layer can be in or outside the paper machine in a known manner to be embedded between the two outer layers and in the color of. the Surface layers may be different.

When printing on such newsprint, the printing ink Only penetrate up to the impermeable middle layer on both sides. A breakthrough is prevented. The color is also the same on both sides, whether one-sided or was printed on both sides. When printing such a paper gis Printing inks are used that dry faster, but because of the carbon could not be used with the previous printing paper.

It is true that a multilayer printing paper is already known that has outer layers has high printability; but in this known paper there is the middle layer from glued in the usual way, i.e. for Printing ink permeable Paper stock. Furthermore, printing papers are known which have metal "rubber" or similar middle layers exhibit. However, such middle layers are too expensive for the present purpose and practically cannot be kept so thin that they can be used for newsprint suitable. Finally, multi-ply paper stocks are also known, the absorbent outer layers and contain a waterproof glued middle layer. Such substances should, however are primarily used for the manufacture of towels and are used to for this purpose still roughened or creped, measures that are straightforward with newsprint are to be avoided.
