Description
The flotation of bituminous Mansfeld copper slate is despite the since Investigations and experiments carried out continuously in the middle of the last century have not yet been carried out succeded. The following describes a flotation treatment method which it allows copper slate to be processed and products to be extracted, either as Mixed concentrate, consisting of bitumen and copper, or as separate concentrates, consisting made of bitumen on the one hand and copper on the other. The process has been further developed for the extraction of the in small amounts Amounts, usually below 0.5 or ι%, lead and lead present in the raw material Zinc. The simultaneous extraction of lead and zinc is necessary for the low metal content to make the processing of copper slate worthwhile.
Besides bitumen and copper on the one hand, lead and zinc on the other hand, bitumen is used or with the lead and zinc the silver contained in the copper slate is obtained.
Die angegebene Art der Zerkleinerung ist von wesentlicher Bedeutung, denn bei den bisher üblichen Verfahren zur Schwimmaufbereitung von Mansfelder Kupferschiefer, bei denen mit der Zerkleinerung unter 0,060 mm gegangen wurde, stellten sich insofern Schwierigkeiten beim nachfolgenden Schwimmen ein, als infolge des durch die Vermahlung bedingtenThe investigations carried out so far with Mansfeld copper slate led to the opinion that the fusing of the metal girders with the adjacent rock or the gangue (clay slate, bitumen) was so intimate that it had to be reduced in size to less than 0.060 mm. From this it emerged that in most cases the further processing of the copper slate failed because of the size reduction or the costs for the size reduction. In contrast, it is possible according to the method according to the invention to reduce the comminution stage to a level which does not exceed the degree of comminution for the usual flotation. It has been shown that about 75 to 90% of the mineral copper carriers between the individual slate layers of the ore, are embedded and only the remaining part is contained as impregnation in the slate itself. On the basis of this finding, according to the invention, the copper slate was initially only pre-shredded to about 0.120 mm and floated, and then the medium products that were not used in the flotation were subsequently shredded to about 0.075 mm and then floated again. Already after the first swim, about 50 per cent of the copper was found to be a usable, smeltable concentrate. The specified type of comminution is of essential importance, because with the previously common methods for the swimming pool processing of Mansfeld copper slate, in which the size reduction was below 0.060 mm, difficulties arose during the subsequent swimming, as a result of the grinding caused by the grinding
hohen Schlammanfalls bei der Flotation keine zufriedenstellende Anreicherung des Kupfergehaltes im Konzentrat (nur etwa 4 bis 87o) erzielt werden- konnte, während bei dem Verfahren gemäß der Erfindung infolge der dem Erzcharakter angepaßten Zerkleinerung und Vermahlung sich nur eine geringe Schlammbildung bei der Flotation zeigte und ein 15-bis 20 %iges Konzentrat erzielt wurde.high sludge accumulation during flotation, no satisfactory enrichment of the copper content in the concentrate (only about 4 to 87o) could be achieved, while in the process According to the invention, as a result of the comminution and grinding adapted to the ore character, only a small amount of sludge is formed showed during flotation and a 15-20% concentrate was achieved.
Another essential feature of the invention is that the turbidity to the full or partial replacement of the usual additives salts of alkalis or alkaline earths to be added in an amount of more than 500 kg / t of ore. Although it is known per se, saline solutions to be used in a concentration of up to approx. 400 kg / t of ore, as well as ordinary copper ores with the addition of Saline solutions have been treated. In contrast, the invention is the Flotation of bituminous Mansfeld copper shale, i.e. an ore that is characterized by a high content of carbon carriers next to copper carriers.
In the process according to the invention lies the importance of the salts to be used not only in the technical swimming treatment of the ores, but above all in the Separation of the carbon carriers from the copper carriers. To this separation with consideration to be able to design the subsequent metallurgical process as cheaply as possible, it has been proven that the specified amount of salts must be added. The tests were carried out with contents of around 160 legs of salt per cubic meter, d. H. at a dilution of 1: 5 like them in the present case it was planned to dry about 800 kg of salt per ton of solid Task.
The use of the high salt content not only promotes the process as such, but allows a substantial reduction in the cost of additives by the fact that the otherwise The usual foamer and sometimes also collectors can be completely or partially omitted. Of the a high salt content as such is sufficient to generate the required foam. A The particular advantage of this process is that the mine water that contains a lot of salt previously considered unsuitable for swimming, now for swimming conditioning can be recycled. As a result of the high salt content of 160 kg / cbm, for example, the specific one also increases Weight of the salty water from 1 to i, i2, which of course makes it float the bitumen is made much easier.
It is irrelevant for the process whether a mixed concentrate is obtained, consisting from bitumen, copper, lead and zinc, or whether you work differentially and initially a bitumen concentrate, then the zinc and third. Copper and lead wins together, whereby the order can also be reversed.

The effect of the high salt content in terms of reducing additives can be taken from the graphs shown in Figs. 1 and 2. In them is that Salt content in kg / cbm on the abscissa and the foam or collection oil requirement on the ordinate specified.
I, which relates to the foam oil requirement, it is clear that with increasing salt content, the foam oil requirement
Fig. 2 relates to the need for collector additives and shows that without salt content about 0.214 kg / t collector additives are required, while with a salt content of around 80 kg / cbm ο.164 kg / t.
The above method for processing copper slate results in
folge der Verwendung von hohen Salzgehalten noch folgendes:follow the use of high salt contents as follows:
In almost all swimming pool treatment systems, it is advisable to thicken the outflowing sediment in order to recover the additives contained in this sludge as far as possible and to feed the sludge back into the process. For this it is necessary that this mountain turbidity is thickened after swimming in order to have the possibility of recovering water containing additives. If you use the salt content of the turbidity at the specified level for swimming or if you add salt in the appropriate amount to the property before the swimming pool treatment, where such high-salt turbidity is not naturally present, you achieve an acceleration of the sedation of the Turbid mountains and with it the possibility of obtaining larger amounts of circulating water for swimming.
Fig. 3 provides information about the acceleration of sedimentation and the associated clarification of the return water. It shows the salt content in kg j dom on the abscissa and the sewage water level in millimeters and the sedimentation time in minutes on the ordinates. It turns out that with a high salt content about 41 mm clears after 9 minutes, while with a salt-free pulp the same clearing occurs only after about 14 to 15 minutes.
In Fig. 4 the thickening time in minutes is in the abscissa and the clear water column in Millimeters indicated on the ordinate. The curves 1 to 4 show the course of the thickening, namely curve 1 for a slurry of 200 kg per cbm, curve 2 for a Turbidity with 160 kg salt per cbm, curve 3 for a turbidity with 100 kg salt per cbm and curve 4 for a fresh water turbidity. The beneficial influence of the salt content on the Thickening can be seen without further ado.
In Fig. 5 the salinity in kg / cbm is on the abscissa and the swimming time is in minutes indicated on the ordinate. The curve shows a shortening of the swimming time with increasing salt content.
When it comes to the flotation of copper shale on bitumen, copper, lead and zinc, things have turned out well showed that the values for the application fluctuate extremely strongly or that the Procedure cannot be designed in a uniform manner, i.e. it does not promise economic success, as long as the content of the raw material in copper pebbles on the one hand and copper luster on the other is subject to strong fluctuations. Contrasting experiments have the proof demonstrated that this difficulty can be completely eliminated if the Swimming processes for the extraction of the copper luster Pentasolxanthate and for the extraction Potassium amylxanthate of the copper pebbles can be added one after the other.
