Abstract

The lock (13) has an electro-mechanical coupling between an external door knob and the door release controlled by communication between an identity care (25) incorporating a HF transponder and a verbification circuit (24) in the vicinity of the lock, connected to an antenna (27). The coupling is operated to allow the door to be opened via the knob only when the code read from the identity card corresponds to an authorised access code. Pref. the coupling is only used for the external door knob, for allowing direct opening of the door from the inside via the internal door knob.
