Abstract

There is a gap (64) to the window frame spar's (11) vane protrusion (13), that stems from a face side of the wing frame's spar. The member (10) of the leaf frame nearest to that of the fixed frame has a protrusion (13) covering the gap between the two. Corner-reinforcing plates (33,34) may be mounted on the member on each side, and are screwed together from the inside. One of the plates can have an integral eye for a hinge bolt (25). There can alternatively be two eyes screwed to the plate and engaging with opposite ends of the bolt. There can be a profiled metal stiffening component (14) on the face of the fixed frame member (11) and extending for its full length.
