Abstract
In this railway sleeping carriage, compartments (10.3; 10.4; 10.5; 10.6) are provided which are arranged in the central part of the carriage and are accessible from a continuous longitudinal corridor (7). Two adjacent compartments have a common access. From the longitudinal corridor (7) a lower flight of stairs (13) leads to the compartments (10.3; 10.4) located on the lower level and an upper flight of stairs (15) to the compartments (10.5; 10.6) located on the upper level. The vestibules (11; 12; 14) connected by the flights of stairs (13; 15) are arranged outside the compartments (10.3; 10.4; 10.5; 10.6). Either the compartments (10.3; 10.4; 10.5; 10.6) can be closed off from the vestibule (11; 12) or the vestibule (11; 12) from the common access using compartment doors. When the common access is closed off, the vestibule (11; 12) forms a passage between two adjacent compartments. <IMAGE>
