Description

Switch-off device for electromagnetic speaking machines with after the Poulsen process magnetizable, rewindable, wire or ribbon-shaped phonetic carrier In the previously known, working with steel wire according to the Poulsen method Electromagnetic speaking machines turn off after the wire runs out instead that the wire to be rewound as a function of its winding state A lever controls a gearbox, which in turn has a switch-off contact of the drive motor operated. Through the interaction of wire and lever device Naturally, a special setting is necessary for the wire, what is necessary in practice makes a bobbin case a technical requirement. The one with such a bobbin case Equipped electromagnetically working speaking machine is particularly expensive and also requires a special setting of the lever, as the wire cannot necessarily be produced in the same length for every machine. To now make the disconnection mechanism independent of any additional mechanical device, according to the invention, the wire is to be carried out at both ends by some method be made electrically less conductive on its surface, be it that it has a Lacküherzug receives, be it that by a special, not the subject of the invention associated process significantly changed the surface quality of the wire will, e.g. B. by surface oxidation. Although it is already for control purposes a typewriter according to a photographic way and according to the Amplitude-based sound recording has been proposed on photomechanical Ways to copy the sound recording onto a tape covered with a metallic layer, on which then conductive and non-conductive parts through the undulating boundary line separate the sound recording and use this tape to control relays, who alternately press the individual keys of the typewriter. This tape therefore only serves as a control band, but not for sound reproduction. With the subject matter of the invention on the other hand, the metal band or metal wire releases two different ones at the same time Tasks, except as a magnetogram carrier, the metallic wire or the metallic one serves Band itself as a contact member to control the motor circuit and only carries on the ends of insulation for switching the drive motor off or over.

It is useful to arrange two sliding contacts within the speaking head, which are electrically connected to the relay controlling the motor circuit in such a way that this relay switches off when the contact is interrupted and the machine comes to a standstill.
