Dieses Verfahren ist insbesondere bei der Verarbeitung dünner Stahldrähte schwierig durchzuführen, weil das Walzgut ungleiche Temperaturen besitzt und demnach die Behandlung durch Abspritzen, Abbrausen o. dgl. in ein und derselben Drahtader verschiedene Härten hervorruft. Geringfügige Störungen imWalzwerk wirken bereits stark auf die Temperatur der auf den Platten liegenden Adern ein, wodurch ein gleichmäßiges Vergüten unmöglich gemacht wird. Im übrigen ist der Anfang einer Ader immer wärmer als das Ende und deshalb die Einwirkung des Abschreckmittels auf verschiedene Teile der Ader unterschiedlich.
