Description
Process for coloring liquid or fusible organic substances It has been found that phosphatides, especially lecithin, have a surprising dissolving power for numerous dyes that exist in organic substances, fi. B. hydrocarbons and their halogenation products, alcohols, ketones, esters, higher fatty acids, Fats, oils, resins, cellulose derivatives and others. m., not soluble or not sufficiently soluble and that these dye solutions can be used with any of them To color mixable products of an organic nature homogeneously.
A method has already been given in which staining of this kind by using oil-soluble soaps, organic amines or soap-like Connections of such, e.g. B. of oleic triethylolamine can be achieved. That however, the new method has significant advantages over the older one. So allow Use of lecithin harmless also the coloring of food and luxury foods, of products of the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, among others m., at which the known auxiliaries do not come into question or only to a limited extent. Further it has been shown that the liquids, pastes u. like., z. B. Oils and oil solutions, generally much less prone to excretions, even if small amounts of water are present, than about. analog dye solutions in oil, which with the help of z. B. triethylolaminoleate were prepared.
It is therefore possible in many cases with more concentrated solutions to work than before. This fact is not infrequently of decisive importance.
Various types of dyes are used for the new process Question, e.g. B. water-soluble salts of basic dyes, dye acids and salts of such, numerous poorly soluble organic pigments, such as amino and aminooxyanthraquinones, acidic mordant dyes of all kinds, especially in the form of their color lakes, as well as complex compounds from basic dyes and heteropoly acids, various vat dyes.
Which of the numerous representatives of these dye classes in each individual case are useful depends on the various circumstances and is each by one short aptitude test easy to determine.
Das Verfahren ist einer vielseitigen Anwendung fähig. In Frage kommen z. The method is capable of versatile application. Come into question z. B. the following areas: oils, fats, fatty acids, resins, varnishes of all kinds, in particular also cellulose ester varnishes, oil emulsions, e.g. B. for the purposes of leather treatment, Floor wax, cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparations.
When carrying out the process, it does not matter whether you only cold or, if necessary, the dye in the phosphatide ]I, dissolves warm and then adds the dye solution to the fabric to be dyed, or whether the phosphatide is first incorporated into the dyed material and then the treatment with the Makes dye. In the case of mordant dyes, which as such in the phosphatide or in phosphatide-containing mixtures are soluble, a laking z. B. with fatty acids or naphthenic acid salts of the metals in question during or after Dissolution of the dye can be effected. The addition of the lacquer former can be done at any time at any point in the operation. It can also be useful to varnish only later in the form of an aftertreatment of the end products, e.g. B. Films according to the invention stained solutions.
The solubility and depth of color can in some cases, in particular in the case of mordant dyes of the alizarin series, by adding oil-soluble amines, e.g. B. triethylolamine monooleate, Dibenzylamine and the like, more or less improve. In the case of individual dyes solubility in the first place through the combination of phosphatide and oil-soluble Base causes.
The degree of purity of the solubilizers used according to the invention Phosphatides, e.g. B. soy lecithin, is not critical in most cases. It is usually sufficient if the products obtained during cleaning are of secondary quality to be used. Very suitable are e.g. B. under the name of textile cithin commercially sensitive products.
It has already been proposed to use the Aqueous thickeners and oils containing dye preparations containing lecithin as Add emulsifier for the oil, but this increases the solubility of the dyes is out of the question in the aqueous printing medium. In contrast, according to the present invention in organic: media insoluble or sparingly soluble dyes dissolve if you use phosphatides, especially lecithin, as solubilizers used.
