Durch diese Exzentrizität in Verbindung mit der Symmetrie der Gabelscheiden läßt sich der bei der Gabel, je nach Gebrauch für Solo- .oder Seitenwagenmaschine, notwendige verschiedene Vorlauf einstellen, und zwar ohne jede Veränderung der Gabelcharakteristik und ohne Auswechslung von Teilen, lediglich durch Seitenverkehrung der Gabelscheiden. Durch die Seitenverkehrung wird das exzentrische untere Schwinghebellager einmal vor, einmal hinter die Verbindungslinie gelegt, und die durch die Verschiebung der Vorderachse hierdurch erzielte Vorlaufänderung ergibt sich als Funktion aus dem Betrag der Exzentrizität des unteren Schwinghebellagers.
