Description
Storage, especially for the transport of shock-sensitive objects, such as mercury vapor rectifiers or the like. Attempts have been made by means of various types of devices to store shock-sensitive and easily breakable objects in a break-proof manner, especially for transport. Facilities are known in which the sensitive object is clamped freely floating between springs, as they are described and illustrated in the VDI news of February 2, 1927, among others. However, these devices have the disadvantage that, because of the use of simple compression or tension springs, the weight to be cushioned forms a vibration system of a certain frequency with the spring and, as such, has a certain resonance position when excited in the vicinity of the natural frequency. The movements of the sensitive object are so great that it is easily destroyed.
Attempts have also been made to apply resonance vibrations Avoid an air cushioning for the support springs by using an air cushioned Spring arranged in a pendulum carrying the object. But it is with help the known devices of this type only possible the shocks in one direction to dampen, while practically shocks occur in three spatial directions. Also is the facility is worthless if the transport box is tilted or tilted. Further is the establishment for the practical. Operation too sensitive and would for that Transport of large glass bodies, as they are common today in rectifier construction, a lot become too large, so that this mode of transport is also used solely for storage prohibits conditional additional space requirements. One already has the weight of the Piston-receiving tension members at least partially with damping in both spring directions Mistake.
In contrast to this, means are used in the present invention, which produce a suspension damped on one side in three spatial directions, with the Damping of the springs, as known per se, takes place by air and when tensioning and Relaxing is different in size.
An exemplary embodiment is described below with reference to the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a glass body a floating in a box in elevation. Fig. 2 is a plan view of it. It means b and b, soft pieces of leather between which the body a is held. Between the edge of the leather pieces and the box wall, elastic buffers c and cl are clamped, which exert a tensile force and keep the body a in suspension. The box d is large enough to allow the body a pendulous movements. Such a buffer is shown in section in Fig. 3. In the cylinder e there is a piston / with a leather cuff g. The pull rod IL is guided in the bottom i and the spring k presses on the piston f and the bottom !. The aeses l and m are used to attach the buffer by means of cord or chains. In the state of use, the pull rod h is pulled out about halfway. The air trapped in the cylinder e. Is expelled by the movement of the piston / at the through-hole in the bottom i, for which the piston rod h must be slightly leaky. When sucking in (reverse gear of the piston), the air enters the cylinder at the edge of the leather cuff, while when moving forward, the trapped air presses the cuff against the wall, which means that the closed air at the bottom of the cylinder must escape at i. This results in greater air resistance and stronger damping in forward gear than in reverse gear. As the following consideration will show, this primordial equilateral effect is necessary. If z. B. if the body exerts a quick push downwards, as the arrow is intended to indicate, the buffers cl will expand and the buffers c will decrease. The slackening off must be possible as quickly, however, that a pull on the piece of leather b also comes about with the rapid impact. Otherwise there would be a risk that the vitreous would lose its hold. This consideration applies to every thrust.
In place of the air damping described, a liquid damping can also be used be used for the present purpose. In this case the cylinder e should open have a bottom on both sides and the pull rod would get k in the bottom! a stuffing box guide.
The spatial arrangement of the buffers within the box can vary and depends on the shape of the body to be sent. You have several To pack bodies, one can in some cases move on to a package containing a number of individual bodies to hang on the buffers described. For example you can: let a whole stack of porcelain plates float in the box.
The arrangement of the buffers can also be made so that this not pulling, but supporting. In the latter case, the Compression spring a tension spring. to be installed in cylinder e.
