Durch die nachbeschriebene, in Blatt I und II, Fig. ι bis 10, dargestellte Einrichtung ist eine Neuerung im Glattwebverfahren geschaffen, durch die ermöglicht ist, ein zu webendes Stück so herzustellen, dafs es seiner Breite nach an beliebiger Stelle oder an verschiedenen Stellen Verdickungen erhält, die nur dadurch erzeugt werden können, dafs eine Verstärkung der Kette an den betreffenden Stellen vorgenommen wird. Es haben zu dieser Neuerung die Umstände, geführt, dafs Läuferdecken meist in der Mitte zuerst durchgetreten werden, während die Seitentheile noch unversehrt sind, Schrubb- oder Scheuertücher in der Mitte zerfallen, während sie an den Seiten noch stark genug zum Weitergebrauch wären.
