Description

Process for the production of chemically drying, basic pigments containing paints The patent 568 693 describes a process according to which one obtains chemically drying, basic pigments and optionally siccatives containing paints which dry considerably faster as a result of the addition of hexamethylenetetramine. Naturally, there are great advantages in this. The wet spreads, which are very sensitive to dust and rain, are more quickly removed from this unfavorable influence; they cure faster and better and can be sanded, painted over or processed further. It is particularly favorable that the addition of hexamethylenetetramine means that much less siccative can be used and thus the service life of the paints, which decreases as the siccative content increases, can be increased significantly.

It has now been found that drying of this kind is accelerated Colors are also obtained if you replace the basic hexamethylenetetramine aliphatic amines, e.g. B. triethylamine, ethylmethyleneamine, di- "p, herrylkuanidine, Dicyandianide, etc., applies.

In the meantime, Marling (Drugs, Oils & Paints, Vol.XLII, Philadelphia, April ig27, issue no. Zi, page 373, Referat Farbenzeitung, Volume 32, page 237x) it has been observed that diphenylguanidine increases weight and at the same time accelerates the drying of linseed oil paints. The acceleration is when using linseed oil, which Marling uses alone without added pigments was, or extremely low from other paints free of color bodies, so that it is difficult to perceive and practically meaningless. Only through simultaneous In the presence of basic pigments, it is increased significantly and to such an extent that it is noticeable appears and has practical significance.
