Verfahren zum Herstellen von Gummiüberzügen auf eisernen Gleichrichtergefäßen Es ist bekannt, eiserne Gleichrichtergefäße mit Überzügen aus Gummi zu versehen. Diese Überzüge hat man bisher so hergestellt, daß man auf das Gleichrichtergefäß in plastischem, unvulkanisiertem Zustande mühselig den Gummi, meist in Plattenform, aufbrachte und ihn in einem geschlossenen Kessel unter Druck und bei einer Temperatur von etwa i4o° vulkanisierte. Abgesehen davon, daß ein solches Aufbringen und eine solche Vulkanisation bereits bei kleinen Gleichrichtergefäßen schon umständlich und unvollkommen war, war es bei großen Gleichrichtergefäßen mit erheblichen Schwierigkeiten verbunden, die insbesondere dadurch entstanden, daß die gebräuchlichen Vulkanisierkessel zur Aufnahme, großer Gleichrichtergefäße nicht ausreichten. Die Anschaffung genügend großer Vulkanisierkessel würde derart hohe Kosten verursachen, daß die Herstellung der überzüge aus Gummi sehr unwirtschaftlich werden würde.Method of making rubber coatings on iron rectifier vessels It is known to provide iron rectifier vessels with coatings made of rubber. Gemäß der Erfindung wird die Vulkanisation von Gummiüberzügen auf eisernen Gleichrichtergefäßen ohne Schwierigkeiten dadurch ermöglicht, daß nacheinander durch Aufspritzen oder Aufstreichen auf das Gefäß zwei Gummilösungen aufgebracht werden, von denen in an sich bekannter Weise die eine Schwefel und die andere einen Ultrabeschleuniger enthält, worauf in an sich ebenfalls bekannter Weise bei niedrigen Temperaturen die Vulkanisation vorgenommen wird. Die Vulkanisation setzt beim Zusammentreffen der beiden Gummilösungen schon bei Zimmertemperatur ein; -um sie jedoch zu beschleunigen, ist es zweckmäßig, sie bei ungefähr 5o°, etwa in einem geheizten gewöhnlichen Trockenraum, vorzunehmen.
