Diese Matratze kann des leichteren Transportes halber zusammengeklappt werden. Zu dem Ende ist der Rahmen an seinen Langseiten in der Mitte durchschnitten und durch zwei unten liegende Scharniere drehbar gemacht. Das elastische Geflecht ist an der einen schmalen Seite des Rahmens befestigt; an der anderen schmalen Seite wird dasselbe durch eine Holzleiste gefafst, welche durch zwei in der Rückseite des Rahmens sitzende Schrauben (Spannschrauben) angezogen, nachgelassen oder ganz herausgeschraubt werden kann. Auf diesen Schrauben sind innerhalb des Rahmens Zahnrädchen angebracht, in welche flache Schraubengänge einer Axe eingreifen. Die Drehung dieser Axe kann von der einen oder anderen Seite aus mittelst eines passenden Schlüssels geschehen. Es kann jedoch diese mit einigen Gewinden versehene Axe sammt den auf den Spannschrauben sitzenden Zahnrädchen auch fehlen, und es wird die Regulirang in diesem Falle an den mit sechseckigen Köpfen versehenen Spannschrauben selbst bewirkt. Durch diese Einrichtung ist es möglich, auf bequeme Art die Matratze mehr oder weniger elastisch zu machen, und es kann beim vollständigen Herausschrauben der Holzleiste der ganze Rahmen um seine beiden Scharniere herumgeklappt, das Geflecht auf die eine Leiste aufgerollt und so das Ganze in einen kleineren Raum gebracht werden.This mattress can be folded up for easier transport.
