Process for the production of rubbery polymerisation products
It has been found that you can get high quality. rubbery polymerization products
by polymerizing diolefins emulsified in water using oxygen donors
Means can be obtained if the emulsions of the polymerization products after
When the polymerization has ended, treated with reducing agents. As a suitable reducing agent
be z. B. Sodium bisulfite, sodium hydrosulfite, formaldehyde sodium sulfoxylate, tin chloride,
Hydroxylamine, hydrazine or their salts or hydrogen in the presence of catalysts
mentioned.
Through this treatment, in which the polymerization products themselves
should not be attacked, the polymerization products are heavily bleached
and obtained in light yellow to white color. In addition to the bleaching effect still occurs
another valuable effect by adding those still present in the products
oxygen-releasing agents are destroyed, resulting in an extensive stabilization
of the products is effected. In particular, the effect of the polymerization
Hydrogen peroxide, which is often used, of which always a small one
Quantities remain in the end products due to the action of the reducing agents
Pick up funds immediately. The well-known, the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide
conveying substances, such as phenols, naphthols, aniline, metal or metal oxide sols,
can be used as reducing agents in such cases.
Beispiel i In 200 Volumenteilen Isopren werden 18 Volumenteile Olein gelöst,
Phenols, naphthols, etc. have already been added to rubber-like polymerization products to prevent them from oxidizing, sticking or gumming up. However, the proposal has not yet been made to treat the emulsion of the polymerization products with reducing agents after the polymerization has ended in the preparation of rubber-like polymerization products by polymerization of diolefins emulsified in water using oxygen-releasing agents. This mode of operation offers the particular advantage that the destruction of the oxidizing agent used as the polymerization agent means that the polymerization can be stopped at any desired stage. In this way, it is possible to manufacture products with very valuable, constant properties in the simplest possible way. EXAMPLE I In 200 parts by volume of isoprene are dissolved 1 8 parts by volume of olein, whereupon dle solution by shaking in 35o volume dividers a o, 5% ammonia ienthalenden aqueous solution of 5% glue are added as a protective colloid of o emulsified. The hydrogen ion concentration of the emulsion is 8.9. A stable emulsion is obtained which, after adding 5 parts by volume of 30% hydrogen peroxide, gives an artificial latex by heating it to 50 ° for two days. Then 30 parts by volume of a 10% strength aqueous sodium hydrosulfite solution are added to the product. The hydrogen peroxide present is thereby decomposed, and if precipitated in a known manner, a white polymerisation product with good properties, in particular good stability, is obtained.

Instead of the amount used, sodium hydrosulphite solution is used
