Safety crank for internal combustion engines The invention relates
on a crank for internal combustion engines, which both when advancing as
even if the motor shaft kickback does not follow these accelerated movements
and thereby the injuries often caused when turning the crank
prevent. According to the invention this is achieved in that the crank arm is articulated
with the crank hub and, at the same time, with a coupling element mounted displaceably in the hub
is connected that when turning the crank with the motor shaft or one with it
connected part couples, but displaced from its coupling position by the shaft
as soon as the movement of the shaft accelerates or reverses in direction.
When a speed and direction deviating from the crank rotation occurs
Movement of the motor shaft releases it automatically from the hand crank, whereby
this only experiences short and weak jolts that are left by the hand of the operator without
Danger to be taken.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. Fig. I shows the crank handle partly in side view, partly in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 in cross section in the uncoupled position, Fig. 3 in the coupled position, Fig. Q. in the case of decoupling by the leading shaft of the motor that has started, Fig. 5 in the case of decoupling by the returning shaft. The crank consists of a hub a, an arm b and a handle c. In contrast to the known cranks, the crank arm b is not rigid, but hinged to the hub a, namely rotatable about a bolt d. In the hub a, as a coupling member, there is a bolt e, which is displaceable in the plane of rotation of the crank and receives its movement from the shorter part of the crank arm which forms a two-armed lever. For this purpose, the bolt is provided with a toothing f, in which a corresponding toothing g of the crank arm engages. The motor shaft h has a cutout i (Fig. 2) and the bolt e has an opening k which is shaped and so large that either the motor shaft / v rotates in the bolt or it penetrates into the cutout i of the shaft and with it whose base can come into contact. This base area and the part of the bolt that penetrates into the cutout have a non-circular shape, so that the crank and shaft are coupled when the bolt lies in the cutout. In the illustrated embodiment, the base l of the cutout i forms a flat surface, and accordingly the opening k is provided with a straight edge na. The two coupling surfaces can also be angular or curved in any desired manner; The only important thing is that they are not concentric to the axis of the shaft. In the rest state (Fig. Z) the crank arm b is symmetrical to the hub d and the bolt e so that its edge »t is outside the circumference of the shaft 1t. When turning, the crank arm b swings out to the left, as shown in Fig. 3, whereby the bolt e is pushed to the right as a result of the toothing f, g and penetrates into the cutout i with its edge part nt. If the edge m is not opposite the cutout i when the crank is at rest, it enters the cutout after a corresponding rotation of the crank on the resting shaft. Upon further rotation of the crank shaft with the bolt takes lt, wherein the crank arm maintains its inclined to the centerline position.
Dadurch
ist, auch der Handschutz erhöht.Once the motor has started, the shaft lt hurries ahead of the evenly turned crank, and the transverse edge za of the shaft created by the cutout i presses against the locking edge m, as shown in Fig. Q. illustrated. The force exerted by the edge n outweighs the crank force and pushes the bolt e back so that the shaft h can rotate freely in the bolt cutout k. The crank is now uncoupled. 'If, on the other hand, the motor shaft hits back while turning, as indicated by the arrow drawn in Fig. 5, the upper edge o of the cutout presses against the edge m of the bolt e, which is now pushed back in the same way as when the shaft leads so that the backward movement of the shaft cannot pass to the crank. As can be seen from Fig. I, a ratchet wheel p can be arranged on the rear side of the hub ra, in which a pawl q engages, which sits on a fixed pin. If the pawl is inserted into the ratchet wheel, it causes a quick release of the crank coupling in the event of a kickback of the shaft h because it holds the crank hub independent of the crank arm immediately after the kickback begins. This also increases hand protection.
In the manner described, the crank can also be on one with the
Motor shaft to be connected special part, e.g. B. with the usual attachment tube
Crank, be connected. Instead of the sliding latch, pincer-like can also be used
or other coupling elements are used, which are carried out by the crank
differently rotating shaft are displaced and triggered.
