Die bekannten, durch den Druck des Wassers schliefsenden Wasserabsperrventile für Hauswasserleitungen leiden an dem Uebelstande, dafs sie sehr leicht undicht werden, besonders dann, wenn der Sitz des Verschlusses tiefer als die Einflufsöffhung liegt. Es lagern sich in diesem Falle feine, mit dem Wasser fortgeschwemmte Theilchen auf dem Sitz ab und verhindern dadurch das Dichthalten des Ventils. Die Folge davon ist ein fortwährendes Tropfen desselben und hierdurch hervorgerufene Wasservergeudung. Man sucht nun diese feinen Theilchen durch an die Einflufsöffnung vorgelegte feine Siebe von dem Sitze fernzuhalten, begünstigt aber hiermit wieder eine Verstopfung der feinen Maschen des Siebes und ruft dadurch einen anderen, noch gröfseren Uebelstand, nämlich das gänzliche Nichtfunctioniren des Ventils hervor.The well-known water shut-off valves for domestic water pipes that close due to the pressure of the water suffer from the inconvenience that they leak very easily, especially when the seat of the closure is deeper than the influence opening lies. Der zweite Schlufs wird dadurch erzielt, dafs der Glockenkolben d sich mit seinem Rand über einen Vorsprung g des Einlaufstutzens e schiebt, während auf den Rand des letzteren die Decke des Glockenkolbens d sich aufsetzt. Aufserdem besitzt diese Absperrvorrichtung noch den Vortheil, dafs kein besonderes kleines Ventil mit feinen, leicht sich verstopfenden Durchgangskanälen vorhanden ist, dafs ferner kein Rückschlag stattfindet und die veränderlich auftretende Reibung in der Stopfbüchse auf ein Minimum beschränkt ist.Fig. Ι shows the valve in the open, Fig. 2 in the closed state.
