Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 29. Mai 1890 ab.Patented in the German Empire on May 29, 1890.
The previously known gas - heating apparatus with divided and in separate Gas flames burning pipes have the great disadvantages that they only have the conductive, but not at the same time use the radiant heat of the gas flames, furthermore none Show an openly burning gas fire and thus do not give the impression of comfort can, and finally due to the heating tubes that run up and down when heating up and if there is no draft, spread the well-known foul smell. The present innovation aims to avoid these disadvantages. This is achieved by the fact that the fire and air cells in the heater are separated, and that the fire cells below as Individual chimneys are formed and act here directly through radiation, while they are above the chimney opening are closed and only give off the heat there by conduction. Furthermore, the individual fire cells are through suitably selected cross-sectional shapes formed from very large heat-conducting surfaces and so arranged that their heating effect begins immediately above the floor, so that there is no need to move the fire cells up and down. The slightest lift is sufficient to draw off the combustion gases directly upwards into the upper plenum permit. The air cells formed between the fire cells are so flat that the air is is heated quickly in them and above the chimney openings to the front and top exit.
In the accompanying drawing, FIG. 1 shows a heating register assembled in this way with chimney cells in a front view; Fig. 2 is a horizontal section through the lower part; 3 shows a vertical section through a chimney cell and FIG. 4 shows such a section through an air cell. The chimney cells are denoted by f in all figures, the air cells by I.
The chimney-like design of each fire cell can be seen directly from FIGS. 1, 2 and 3. The burner tube α of each fire cell can be inserted into the same as desired and have burner openings both in the transverse direction and in the longitudinal direction. The flame strikes against a chamotte stone with asbestos threads arranged in the lower part of the cell, which is open at the front, or against a wall made of other material reflecting the heat . B.
The burners can be turned off individually or in groups, so that not all burners have to burn at once, as is the case with conventional gas fireplaces. All fire cells open at the upper end into the collecting chamber c, from which the fire gases escape through the flue pipe c 1 into the chimney.
Fire and air cells alternate with one another, as can be seen from FIG. Behind the rear wall of each fire cell there is also an air channel d which, as shown in FIG. 3, extends from the floor, so that the air rising here also brushes the rear wall of the chamotte stone. These air ducts located behind the fire cells can be combined to form a common duct which is delimited on the outside by the casing e of the fireplace.
The air cells Z located between the fire cells are open at the bottom, Fig. 4, also in front in the upper part, so that the warm air through that in front of these openings arranged common grid exits. The cross-section of the fire cells and air cells can be can be changed as desired, taking into account the points of view given above.
Opposite the common open chimneys, the present split chimney has with separate, alternately arranged fire and air cells, the following advantages.
By dividing the combustion chamber and inserting air cells between the open fireplace cells, the heat of the flames during the combustion is released directly sideways to the heat-dissipating surfaces, while otherwise with chimneys the heat is usually only dissipated above the combustion chamber happens, i.e. at a point where the highest combustion temperature is achieved no longer exists.
With the same total height of the new and the old chimney, the former has no Downward routing of the combustion gases has significantly larger heat-conducting surfaces than the old fireplace.
The flames burn individually or in small groups in the separate chimney cells more perfect and odorless than if they were in a single large combustion chamber are arranged more to each other and mutually due to drafts in the combustion disturb. This eliminates the noise and smell of most gas fires.
The radiant heat of the previously large fireplaces is usually so great that it does one cannot stay near it and even the floor against it Damage from excessive radiation must be protected. With the present Interruption of the chimney by closed colder air cells becomes the radiant heat distributed over a larger total area, and thereby diminishes their intensive effect.
You do not need different models for the different sizes of the fireplace, but assumes the same from a greater or lesser number of cells Model together.
