Description
Process for the stabilization of aqueous, prepared in a known manner Emulsions of bituminous or oily substances Aqueous emulsions of tar, tar oils, Asphalt with soap solutions, sulphite cellulose waste liquor and the like are used as emulsifiers known.
These emulsians show under certain circumstances, especially when they are strongly predominant of one part, great tendency to segregate.
It has been found that this segregation can be avoided in many cases is when you put such gases in the emulsion (or in one of the components before the Emulsification), which in the gasification of hard coal, lignite, wood and the like or their products or in the distillation of the tars and oils concerned develop. Acetylene is also suitable for this purpose.
By using these gases instead of oxygen or of Air as a stabilizer, a greater durability of the emulsion is achieved and at the same time the possibility of possible oxidation of constituents of the emulsion is excluded.
When treating the finished emulsions with gases, the gas must be supplied as violently as possible, not in a steady stream. The specific gravity of the bituminous components is also an important factor. The higher this is, the more effective the gas is for stabilization. If the introduction takes place in a steady stream and the specific weight is less than i, the opposite easily occurs, namely segregation. For example, a mixture of sand, water and ozokerite can be separated by gas, and the process of American patent i 505 944 also achieves separation of water-emulsified wool fats, lanolin and the like, because the gas carries the fat parts, which are actually lighter, upwards . Examples r. Chews 50 kg. Soda, 500 kg of chewing carbonate, 600 kg of water are dissolved and a solution of 1440 kg of resin in 290 kg of olein is saponified with this; 40oo kg of tar oil are stirred in and gas (obtained by heating lignite tar residues or acetylene), finely divided, is carried out for half an hour. The resulting-. Emulsions made with water last for months.
Die erhaltene Emulsion hält sich Monate.z. 500 kg of distilled tar are mixed with an equal amount of an aqueous tar Soap solution containing 15 kg of liquid resin, z kg of caustic soda and 483 kg of water, emulsified and the emulsion obtained passed through a column from above, in which the distillation gases flow through from below. The emulsion obtained is retained Months.
