Die beiliegende Zeichnung stellt einen Wasserstandskopf dar, welcher bei ss das unter No. 858 patentirte Ventil zum seibstthätigen Verschlufs trägt. Während man bei der Befestigung des Ventils durch konisches Gewinde, wie bei jenem älteren Patent, einen besonderen Schlüssel haben mufste, ist hier die Anwendung eines Schlüssels vermieden, indem anstatt des konischen Gewindes einfach ein glatter Konus genommen wurde, welcher durch die beiden Arme a a an der Reinigungsschraube R einen festen Halt bekommt. Die Arme α α sind so weit von einander entfernt, dafs eine neue Glasröhre durch die obere Verschlufsschraube K des Wasserstandskopfes eingeschoben werden kann, ohne dieselben zu berühren. Um zu zeigen, wie der Glasrohrquerschnitt trotz des Ventils genügend Platz hat, ist in der Zeichnung die Reinigungsschraube R mit den Armen um 90 ° gegen· diejenige Stellung verdreht, welche beim praktischen Gebrauch die richtige ist.The accompanying drawing shows a water level head, which at ss under No. 858 patented valve for self-closing.
